Should be called White pine!
I know Eric loves the use of pine, to this day, he often uses it and even distills his own in-house pine as we can see from the latest release of "SoulmOud | House of Heartistry / Heartistry Perfumery" ! And pine can have way different smells, this one for me is a way of showing the different pines that grow in the USA, what they smell like, and how they can be used. The scent in itself is pretty linear and might not be the most advanced of blends, but that doesn't make it bad, does it? Its unique in its own way, people dont experiment this much with pine and i think thats where House of Heartistry gets the edge over many houses, while everyone tries to be unique and do blends that are "Artistic", Eric gets back to the basic, but he does it in such a way that he just kills it, its amazing, the way simple ingridients can form such an intruging blend, but now lets get to this scent!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The blends opens up rich, smoky and sweet, giving you a blast of ponderosa bubblegum pine, the way it captures you in with an almost caramel smell is amazing, the notes flow through your nose and this is really what i meant when i said back to the basics, pine is very very common in perfumes, but no pine has ever been done this well, its so well rounded and captures you in with the sweetness of it, but then the smoky aspects comes in at the same time, almost like youre burning the pine and releasing all the resins!
Now when it has dried down, much doesn't change, but the oud comes out, the Vietnamese and borneo oud with a smoky, milky and green quality matches perfect with the pine, blending sweet with smoky, dark with light, an amazning scent, not more needs to be said about this, the scent is as it is, but definetly not basic in its sense
All around an amazing pine scent, smoky and sweet, caramel with a powdery twist, I enjoyed this very much!
