Green masculine elegance
The thing that shines most clearly through House of Heartistry is the finesse of Eric's blending. Respect, his final release of 2024, is a particularly fine example of this.
The opening chord is one of my favorites, juicy banana over airy pine and a backbone of rich musk and leathery green oud.
The banana is a stroke of genius. It forms the fragrance's heart that lasts for a couple hours. Rose and jasmine are blended so well as to be impossible for my nose to isolate, only adding subtle fruity and white floral qualities.
Of course I'm sure many are interested in the hemp terpenes... While most "cannabis accords" in commercial fragrances just use tarry synthetics that come across more like an ashtray than a living herb, Respect is quite different.
The terpene profiles used here are too clean to be strongly reminiscent of the herb, however they add touches of citrus, pine, and a lovely camphorous lift (not menthol). I've been told one profile used was "banana kush" to support the banana note as well.
The base of the fragrance is dark green oud wrapped up in warm musk. Along with Silani HeArt this has been one of the more complimented Heartistry fragrances I've worn. Women seem to particularly enjoy it. If I had a lifetime supply I would gladly wear this daily.
