a lovely apple pie until it isnt

the perfume is meant to be an evocation of the french pastry dessert with the same name. the opening is incredibly joyous, a very realistic pastry accord with warm, honeyed apple. instead mood lifter! this part is undeniably fun and delicious and i wish it would stick around forever. unfortunately in a couple hours these beautiful facets disappear which would not be a problem as long as there were a decent enough drydown, but instead it begins to reek of fried oil.... it is a very disillusioning and has such a great sillage. everyone around me ask if someone had just eaten super oily food but nope it was just the drydown of la tarte tatin on me.
