Have you ever met an unfriendly orange?

Well, I have. With orange or tangerine mainly for top notes, Orange Cordoue is seriously high on acidity. It does not take long before the leathery mid takes overhand. The leather veers between waxy castoreum and industrial quinolines. This part is unusually rough and kind of unsettling. I would not be surprised of there was also some oud in here as well. That would explain some of this hard-to-grasp roughness.

Eventually a sandalwood emerges and that takes some of the restlessness away. What is left in the end is basically an orange-musk-sandal trio that feels calm but never really friendly. At least, in my perception.

Quite a tough character, to be honest. Maybe due to the lack of florals, I don't know. The scent evolves over time but even this fails to captivate me. The drydown is no more than the top notes in an eased-down state induced by sandalwood. To me this feels rough and unfinished. Hard pass.

sexy , animalic citric

ORANGE CORDOUE KATANA :
It opens with a great power of citrus fruits ( mandarin , orange , lemon ) soon after the animalic notes ( castoreum ) and musks arrive . All the while this smoky, dusty, citrusy, animalic scent remains. for lovers of animalic smoky citric notes. I like this sexy citric animalic scent.

Summer scent for the oud lovers

It is a very interesting perfume combination, not very common but not so complicated to design either.
In short, it is basically a "very citric" orange, not bitter or sweet, like a tangerine, but rather fresh-citric: sour, acid...
And then a very solid base with an animalic scent, but relatively woody, I would say that it has oud although I haven't seen it in the notes, it's like that width at the bottom and that body I only imagine from the oud, and more knowing the house that he has done.
Papillon has Salomé which is not that citrusy and it has Bengale Rouge which is, but it has a powerful note of cinnamon added to it, being more animalic than leathery-woody in its background, and much weaker than in Orange Cordue.
I would say this combination of notes is very versatile.
It would be the summer perfume for oud lovers.
It's elegant, it's sensual, it's fresh and easy to handle... and without being extremely strange smells, it's an original combination that at the same time is one that many people like.
The only weak point is projection and strength. Obviously it is not as weak as Santal Segar in this house, but it certainly does not reach the power and presence of Oud Damascena, which continues to be the best of Katana for me.

Animalic Orange & leather

Orange cordoue is all about Orange. It opens with a mix of different oranges, Tangerine and Lemon, very citric. Then time by time the fragrance turnos into a more animalic scent. Musk and Castoreum are the main actors giving a leathery vibe to the fragrance. Itt has also some tobacco remminiscence, giving a Smoky character to the mix. It is very ambery and sweet too.
This perfume is very concentrated and dense. It is very intense at the opening but then It turnos into something much mire moderate and weareable.
The longevity is good, around 8 hours on Skin, with a miderate-soft projection, better during the First hour.
I can recommed this fragrance to all those Who LOVE Orange and animalic fragrances. Although when It is a Dank and dense scent I think It can be worn at daytime.
