On Mondays like this....

Just showered and dressed, quickly having a coffee and cracking the soft-boiled egg, oops, too deep, the runny yolk (just how I love it) drips onto my white pants, time to change. 06:50 AM at the office, our dear cleaning lady is on site with 2 colleagues. “Did she complain that I don’t clean thoroughly?” “Me? Where would that come from, no, of course not, I’ll tell you personally if that were the case.” First, I have to soothe dear Mrs. Mariella with sweet words (and later find out which idiot complained…) 07:15 AM, the first courier driver holds his finger on the doorbell for what feels like 5 minutes, I almost fall off my chair, plus the delivery isn’t for us, the driver finds that extremely annoying and lets me know it loudly. 07:30 AM, our cleaning lady is crying with me and feels unappreciated in her work, comforting words are in order. 07:40 AM, I go to our super-duper coffee machine… no coffee is coming into the cup, strange, there’s water in it, what could be wrong? Ouch, there’s the coffee, it’s running down the cabinet and onto my feet, that was hot. By 08:00 AM everything is clean again, I still don’t have coffee, but I have the “coffee on.” And now I realize, in all the “Monday dramas” I haven’t applied any fragrance, not even a sample is in the “Bermuda Triangle.” In the desk, I happily spot a small decant of Eau Aimable, such a lovely scent is just what I need right now, it’s just right, since I have a large bottle at home (thanks again to dear Mrs. P. from L. :o)

Eau Aimable is simply constructed, orange blossom and mandarin waft around me fresh and uplifting. Green (coriander?) and just a hint of resinous notes are also present. Nothing more happens, and yet Eau Aimable has something special that keeps making me sniff my wrist. A fragrance for both ladies and gentlemen, wonderfully cooling at temperatures above 30 degrees. Sillage and longevity are in the medium range, the price is incredibly affordable, and reapplying definitely won’t strain the budget.

08:30 AM, a nice colleague comes by. “Here, I brought you a cappuccino from the cafeteria, have you sprayed yourself, it smells so fresh and delicious, a bit like the fruit platter at Christmas.” Well, Eau Aimable isn’t Christmassy, but maybe the scent of oranges brings on Christmas feelings. And I’m feeling happy, the scent of coffee and not least Eau Aimable sweetens my rough start.

lovable and extremely charming
In the responses to my comment on "Eau des Missions," I found several references to this lovable fragrance being.
So I changed my original intention to dedicate a comment this evening to another enchantress of this fragrance world at the last minute.

The Missionary Sisters of Maria are also committed to the teachings of Saint Francis of Assisi.
Thus, nature is also their top priority.
"Le Couvent des Minimes" has taken this to heart and remains true to this principle with its fragrances and other items in the range.

In contrast to "Eau des Missions," which is dedicated to Asian nature and healing teachings, "Eau Aimable" lives in its southern French roots, the homeland of the former motherhouse.
However, this time it did not emerge from a monastic utility, herb, and healing garden.
It directly unites the full beauty of the southern summer in a magical landscape within itself.

The delicate orange blossom is still not only a beauty and pleasing to the eye; its scent is also a balm for the heart and soul; it simply feels good.
Thus, it also charmingly opens the dance of sun-ripened citrus fruits in "Eau Aimable."
The bergamot, which always smells slightly musty to me, and the zesty mandarin join it.
Thus, a fine mixture of delicacy, zest, and earthiness is already created!
All three fragrance notes blend exceptionally well together.
The wild rose, which provides such resilient blooms, contributes its original, this time not so noble rose scent to this light-footed fragrance creation.
Petitgrain and the abundantly growing nasturtium perfectly complete an extremely lively and charming fragrance cocktail.

"Eau Aimable" rightly carries its name: it is a very lovable little fragrance that brings much joy.
It caresses unexcitedly and unobtrusively, similar to a light summer breeze!
And yet it is very present: it leaves one of those fine fragrance trails that make us pause and tempt us to linger.
A smile, a slight wonder, that "Eau Aimable" conjures up in this moment accompanies us for several hours!
This charming little fragrance has a very deep effect on its surroundings. How lovely!

The fresh summer scent, having jumped straight from the south of France into the bottle, is a wonderful companion for almost all situations in life.
Whether during sports, shopping, or at work - "Eau Aimable" refreshes and delights without becoming bothersome.
Some business lady who indulges in its friendly freshness may not even realize why she is receiving so much attention that day.

"Le Couvent des Minimes" has also drawn well-being into wonderfully large bottles here.
For not only does the scent enchant, but the price-performance ratio simply makes one smile.
Thus, refreshing oneself is always possible without having to check the bank balance.
Isn't that a pleasant bonus?

"Eau Aimable" is thoroughly lovable and generously radiates its French charm.
It makes one crave bread, cheese, and wine, a delicious warm snack with a hint of earthy truffles, and plenty of time to enjoy all the beauty.

I also owe this generous bottle to Angelliese. She has lovingly considered me with her last fragrance mail.

'On a Sunday in Avignon...'
'...the music plays in Avignon!
A thousand lanterns burn by the river,
and all the girls are dreaming today of a kiss.'

Mireille Mathieu jubilated in the 80s, her pageboy haircut shining like raven feathers, usually in a dress made of black velvet and feeling about 1.30 meters tall. She was typically introduced by a cheerful Dieter Thomas Heck - and sometimes accompanied by the ZDF television ballet: beaming gentlemen in white tailcoats with top hats and sequins on their lapels, and impeccably coiffed ladies in peach-colored, flowing formation dance dresses against a backdrop of sunset and paper columns. Good cheer was hardly avoidable when Mireille Mathieu belted out her little song, accompanied by the applause of the West German audience. And Dieter Thomas Heck was already holding the bouquet (roses, gerbera, and gypsophila wrapped in cellophane), while the last chords of the playback still faded in the background.

I was still small in the early 80s when Mireille Mathieu (along with the ZDF television ballet and Dieter Thomas Heck) bid farewell to the screens of the republic - and yet I find echoes of the described in Le Couvent de Minimes' Eau Aimable. 'Aimable' means 'friendly' or 'lovable' - just like my memories of the harmlessly cheerful entertainment of my childhood - long before television lost its innocence in talk shows and the Big Brother house.

There is a pointedly hesperidic opening - citrusy and fresh like lemonade - followed by a simple, albeit accurately depicted floral note that - just like back then with Mireille and Dieter Thomas - tells of the idyll of a Sunday in Provence, where capricious young ladies with ample décolletage try to steal a kiss or two. Eau Aimable is a fresh little water: uncomplicated, innocent, and full of cheer - albeit somewhat predictable in its development and almost touchingly old-fashioned - like peach-colored swirling dresses and white tailcoats before a painted sunset. Nevertheless, it is a pretty, small fragrance - modest and pleasingly arranged - and so French, like an artificially patinated bread box with the inscription 'Pain' from a home accessories store and an old Edith Piaf CD warming up while heating a glass of ragout fin.

In conclusion, full of wistful memories and belted out like once by Mireille Mathieu:
'You are never as young as today,
don't stay alone, take your time.
And come with me, it's not far,
and come with me to Avignon!'

Even with this lovely orange blossom water, I probably won't become lovable. Fam. Tester M likes it. Simple + effective.

Really beautiful juicy-creamy mandarin/orange scent that doesn't last long, but at this price, it can be reapplied happily...
