Realistic mimosa

Mimosa by Le Couvent is part of the most refined line of Le Couvent line, a line of perfumery directed by the great perfumer Jean Claude Ellena.
This perfume smells like a lovely mimosa tree would if you were in front of it. Imho this is one of the most pleasant mimosa perfumes available on the market together with the one from Laura Tonatto.

Mimosa - like the finest bone china

The first association: L’Eau d’Hiver. Compared to Mimosa, L’Eau d’Hiver does not necessarily seem coarser - that word would be completely out of place - but rather more present and grounded, thanks to its warm-woody nuances. Mimosa, on the other hand, is delicate, airy, simply perfect.

I do not perceive a bergamot accord (instead, a fine scent of arborvitae), nor a cedarwood note - only mimosas, but what beautiful ones! This is a work of art, and if one could touch it, it would likely be made of gossamer-thin bone china.

The scent is quiet, but it does not sit directly on the skin - it acts like a holographic aura that hovers above you. On the skin, it does not last particularly long, about two hours, but on clothing, it unfolds excellently.

Flat Mimosa

There isn't much to say. Beautiful mimosa accord that has been used before. Sunny and powdery, lovely. But after the initial pleasant impression, it feels boring. This has been done before and better. Mimosa by Réminiscence is superior to this one. It has been released before and features the same mimosa, but it is a much more complex and vibrant composition. I expected more from Ellena.

Impressive, like most from Le Couvent

I have tried quite a bit from Le Couvent and have never really been disappointed.
Sure, there were one or two fragrances that weren't 100% to my taste, but I wouldn't say there's any that I wouldn't at least label as "good".

The brand has various perfumes in a more affordable range, and this fragrance here is from the Signature Collection, which is naturally reflected in the price.

I came across this scent through a perfumery employee while I was buying other fragrances from this brand.
At the checkout, she asked me what I would like to try. I told her "something oriental" because I love oriental scents.

Then she gave me this fragrance, and at first I thought "how boring, mimosa".

I tried it right after I was outside the perfumery and was immediately captivated.
The scent was not the mimosa I had expected. It was so much more!
The fragrance is very elegant and strong. You can clearly smell the mimosa, but if someone were to tell me about a mimosa scent, I would always have classified it as boring without trying this one.

Even in the following hours, the scent developed very positively, although I must say it doesn't transform into something completely different the longer you wear it.

By the end of the day, it was already clear to me: I need this fragrance in my collection!

Scent very elegant.
Longevity very good.
Sillage very good.

I deduct points for the bottle, simply because I don't like these "box" perfumes.
They look elegant, yes. They are also high-quality. But I prefer something more creative. Therefore, a little deduction for the bottle.
