Cowshed
Shelf life is underground
Smells animalistic
It almost seems to me that Mr. Gebauer has overestimated his followers.
After several mainstream-suitable releases, which sold themselves primarily through the brute durability and projection brought about by the massive use of ambrocenides, a fragrance with normal performance is now being released. 4-6 hours with moderate sillage is of course disappointing for the 24-hour Beastmode followers who go from "Top 10 Longest Lasting Fragrances" to "Top 10 Panty Droppers" and discuss the latest Erba Pura, Orange Flamingo or Air Tiger releases in the schoolyard or at university, "I still smelled it after three showers".
If durability is the most important selling point, and this trend seems to be progressing among young men between the ages of 15-25, Marc Gebauer has to accept the question of whether he hasn't ultimately spoiled his loyal following himself.
Now let's get one thing straight: Arabian Cherry's performance is completely normal. Yes. You heard me right. NORMAL. I spray this fragrance on, regularly getting the scent in my nose in wafts. it lasts 4-6 hours. That's not bottomless but simply normal. You may not like it. Feel free to reach for Carbonnel's next Ambro bombs and be happy when the room smells of your floral scent for three days. This is real life.
And the cowshed? Well. When you buy an oud fragrance and then wonder why it has oud in it, it amuses me. This fragrance is very subtle as far as oud is concerned. In no way is it animalistic. But again, we are back to Erba Pura and Orange Flamingo. If you only know sweet fruit and floral fragrances and think that oud smells like Oud Wood Eau de Parfum, then you should perhaps look into the product a little more before writing such unfounded comments here. I also don't buy Latte Pistachio if I hate pistachios. What irony. It's not the fragrance's fault that you don't know these notes.
For me, the fragrance is primarily a pleasant rose/oud scent with an, admittedly somewhat synthetic, cherry note that spreads sweetly in the opening but relatively quickly makes way for the rose/oud combination. Oud comes across very nicely woody. Not animalic or smelly. Finally, the whole thing rests on a sandalwood-musk base, which makes the fragrance dry creamy. I like it very much. Super pleasant to wear!
I can understand if you find the fragrance too synthetic and would have liked a natural cherry. But I find it amusing to devalue the fragrance because of its oud or to label its longevity as "bottomless". Grow up!
