Fresh for any season

Incredible! Private Garden starts with a sugary apple and eucalyptus. Yes, this one is sweet, but not overly done.

There is a slight citrus that keeps nudging me, which allows for this to be a stronger fresh fragrance, but there is a thicker amber that stays throughout, which allows for this to be used in the colder months as well. After a couple of hours, the greener tones mellow down and the sweetness increases.

I'm still unsure of what "powdery" means for fragrances, but I'm getting a better sense of it. My nostrils tickle slightly from the opening, so if that's powdery, then this fragrance starts a bit that way. I'm not bothered by it, but it's worth noting.

Longevity is great at around 8-10 hours. I've used this in all seasons without hesitation.

I have a soft spot for eucalyptus. I used to attend a church that was surrounded by eucalyptus trees, and there is a nice historic neighborhood that I like driving through that is also lined with beautiful old eucalyptus trees. These memories are always brought forth when I spray this fragrance.

And it's made by the hands of Mr. Christian Carbonnel. I will be pursuing a full bottle when the time comes.

After writing this review, I remember that I find similarities between this and Uden (which I've only smelled briefly), so I came back to write that if you like Uden, you'll love this.

Good Niche Fragrance

I have tried 4 of the fragrances that Marc has produced. All of them are pretty strong with high oil content and niche quality. This one is the closest to designer scent to my nose and the one I think is most mass appealing. It's a fresh, greenish, warm fragrance, projects off the skin pretty good for a fresher fragrance. Definitely reminds me of a spring garden vibe with it's slight green and fresh smell. I would agree with the votes below in being in the same category and being similar to fragrances like Bond Lafayette Street but does not really smell close to it to my nose but in the same category of scent. I believe this is one of those fragrances that can be worn all year long summer or winter and has enough strength to cut the cold and last a while in colder weather with its warmer sweet vanilla/amber dry down.

A garden without time

I remember exactly how the box stood on the table - plain, dark green, almost mysterious. I had had my eye on the Private Garden bottle for a long time, but never had the courage to buy it blind. That day was different.

I pulled off the gold cap and pressed the spray head. The first whiff hit me like a cool morning in late summer: fresh bergamot, crisp apple and a hint of eucalyptus. I was immediately twelve years old again, in my grandmother's garden, barefoot in the dewy grass. She was standing by the apple tree picking the first fruits while jasmine bloomed somewhere in the background.

But Private Garden did not stop at this childhood memory. The longer it lay on my skin, the more it transformed, the freshness giving way to a warm vanilla mixed with amber, like a blanket that you wrap around yourself in the evening when the sun slowly disappears.

That day, I wore the fragrance to a meeting with friends. No one asked what I was wearing, but they sat remarkably close to me. It was as if the fragrance was telling a piece of my own story without me having to say a word.

Since then, I always reach for Private Garden when I need peace or a piece of home, no matter where I am. For me, it's not just a perfume, but a little key to a door that takes me into a garden that I only enter in my heart.

A fresh, sweet garden

A very good creation has been created here! The fragrance has what it takes to become a classic.
For me, it can be used anywhere and at any time of year.

The sweetness of green apples paired with eucalyptus comes to the fore. A very beautiful opening that immediately fills the room.
After a short time, jasmine comes into its own and brings something slightly floral to the fragrance. Apple and eucalyptus are still very much to the fore.
The special thing for me comes with the vanilla. It brings warmth to the fragrance and really makes for a great fragrance experience.
The apples, eucalyptus and vanilla harmonize very well with each other and create a very beautiful, pleasant fragrance that will probably appeal to everyone.

Longevity and sillage as usual with Gebauer - very good.

Definitely mega beautiful. I love this DNA, but unusually "unimaginative" on the part of M.G

Private Garden is without question a beautiful fragrance. I love this DNA. Especially in spring and summer, this DNA works fantastically.

However, I think it's a shame that it seems a bit unimaginative to me. Unimaginative in the sense that this type of fragrance already exists here and there. Nikos Sculpture is of course the best example, because it has actually been around the longest.
Xerjoff Uden, for example, has also delved into this topic, a Montale Wood & Spices etc etc.
I was actually used to smelling fragrances from Marc Gebauer that I hadn't smelled before. As I said, this is not the case with Private Garden. A real shame! I think the intention with this fragrance was surely simply to appeal to the masses for the warmer days of the year.

This DNA has this delicious, slightly creamy freshness with floral notes. For the warmer days of the year, this is simply a dream and a DNA that really always goes down well and brings compliments.

Compared to the Uden or Sculpture, the Private Garden is a little more fruity in my opinion due to the green apple.
It also gains a certain warming sweetness over time.
I think that the amber accord draws its circles here.
In my opinion, this is the twist of Private Garden compared to the other two fragrances. Whereby the blue Sculpture, the perfume, also has this creamy freshness right from the start.
The classic EdT is noticeably more sparkling and only moves over time in the direction where the blue Sculpture/Parfum starts directly.

Longevity and sillage are really good for a summer fragrance.
In terms of my skin, this means that it lasts around seven hours.

The fragrance is also wonderful to wear for both sexes.
This fragrance, this DNA simply always works and for all people.
