Cuir Impertinent Mugler 2015

This is my Mugler Cuir Impertinent review. Mugler Les Exceptions Cuir Impertinent Fragrance review. Have you tried the Mugler Les Exceptions Collection of fragrances? I was on a quest for a wearable tobacco scent and tried many over the past couple of years. I realize there are several out there (and the many variations of how tobacco can be utilized in fragrances) and in my mind, I had a very specific scent I was looking for and wasn't successful finding anything that met all of my "criteria". Until of I tried Cuir Impertinent.
Simple with few notes but for me it gets the point across both subtly and elegantly but not too formal. A perfect mix of light leather and tobacco and the star anise adds enough sweetness to round it off. I enjoy it and recommend a decant for those that like this genre of scents. Worth a sniff in my opinion.

I came across this fragrance incidentally but this was a good incident. It is so underrated. The initial burst of photorealistic anise with spicy and green facets is very unique. Then comes the leathery aspects that are no challenging at all for those who despise leather in fragrances and later on beautiful powdery smell that reminds me a bit of Dior Homme intense. It performs exceptionally well and is thick, full-bodied and full of character. I recommend it.

We Parfumos are quite crazy people. But of course, in a good way. We all love scents, want to learn a lot, whether everyone likes it is another matter. Tastes are simply different and that’s a good thing!

So it happened that not long ago I got to test the new Les Exceptions - Cuir Impertinent. The pyramid didn’t really appeal to me at first, but since I have always enjoyed the scents of Thierry Mugler, I just had to try this one. It was very hard to get, but I was lucky enough to snag a sample from a dear Parfumo, along with a few other Les Exceptions. If I had known what I was getting into, I would have taken it anyway ;)

Cuir Impertinent was the first to make its debut. I sprayed it on a Saturday morning just before I started my weekly house cleaning. One spray on my upper arm. Hardly had I sprayed it when it was all over for me. It was probably the best house cleaning of all time :)
My first thoughts: This scent seems familiar to me, where have I smelled this before? Hmm, no idea, but it’s really wonderful.

What do I smell? The fragrance is beautifully spicy. It immediately makes me think of a Christmas market. It always smells so delicious there with gingerbread, vanilla, orange, tangerine, stollen, cinnamon, licorice. I can smell all of this in this fragrance, probably from the star anise, but there’s so much more. It’s simply a perfect blend of everything that makes this scent so unique. There’s a slightly sweet note hidden in between.

I am just totally thrilled with this amazing Mugler! Moreover, the bottle is really well designed and very elegant. It’s a real pleasure to hold it in your hand and take off the cap. The box matches perfectly, large, black, with a great clasp for closing. For collectors, it’s a true masterpiece :)

I am really very glad to have discovered this line. Not all of them appeal to me, but 3 out of 6 in this series are already really well done, with this one being my favorite!

.... and then she refined the Sultan's fruits over herbal, sweet-woody smoke .....

The association says it - we are in the Orient -. Heavy smoke, dry warm evening air, golden sparkling lanterns, floating sweetness - fruits presented on opulent trays .......

For me, the scent comes across as quite oriental.
Only two components - for such a dense, complex, erotic fragrance! - It's hard to believe, considering that I don't really perceive the second component, namely the leather, at all here, at least not like in Cuir Beluga, where this fine note of soft, light suede is immediately noticeable at first. But it may be that the leather accord in CI is not meant to be prominent, but rather acts as a finely rounding player, a coloring that contributes to the overall impression of the fragrance.
In Cuir Impertinent, there is now only the star anise left, which includes and suggests all the perceptions of smoke, sweetness, fruit, and spice. -

Arriving as a small, elegantly packaged fragrance sample from a nice perfumer, what happened was what one always hopes for but does not necessarily expect. - I sprayed it on the back of my hand - and was extremely taken with it, to say the least, it hit me right away. - And now I find myself on a continuous search for this Mugler. In any case, it is not available at relevant sources :-(

The scent:
It makes a strong courtship, the Oriental - with its sweet smoke, it is by no means reserved. This is the most pronounced aspect at the beginning. However, it is not "incense smoke," but a veritable smoking smoke - no fear, not unpleasant! - At the same time, it is interwoven with the finest fruity rays and - so to speak, occult, there is something herbal-spicy that the main character, the star anise, also conveys.

What is actually impertinent here? - Perhaps the anise impression, which pulls through the events far below, dares to disturb this smoky-fruity harmony!?
But it is precisely this anise component, which is practically the hostess here, that brings the kick to the noble sweet-sensual fragrance. Impertinent is the wrong adjective; Cuir Mystique would be the more fitting designation in my opinion.
After a time in which the fragrance has bonded with the skin, the ingredients create a beautiful homogeneous impression of smoky-creamy sweet fruit, becoming quieter, more tender, and very wearable. It retains this particularly sensual, extraordinary touch that the star anise weaves in with a strikingly beautiful, slightly herbal note.

This is how I perceive the fragrance and would definitely see it as unisex.
It is a statement fragrance that is different, that much is certain! - One should use it sparingly.
The longevity has great endurance, and the applied fragrance lasts easily 8-10 hours until it becomes close to the skin.

Not a perfume for daily wear and not an everyday scent! .....
