Sweet, fresh, agreeable
Siesta Drive is one of the newest 3 releases from Navitus Parfums x Big Beard Business. It’s delightfully sweet and fresh from the onset, a sort of citrus-meets-vanilla with some hints of spices (ginger, pepper, vetiver) and a curious use of juniper and geranium, per the note list. The sweetness (presumably due to the vanilla, mostly) is pretty significant, and is a bit creamy, balancing out any of the spicier elements, leading the fragrance to overall land pretty sweet, making it perhaps the sweetest freshie in the Navitus catalogue.
My tentative conclusion is that like most of the freshies in the house, Siestra Drive is very pleasant and crowd-pleasing while not being particularly groundbreaking or superlative, but paired with some of the house’s other bolder entries, I think it’s a really nice for everyday wear, especially in the summer, and it’s a sweeter alternative to entries like Elation, Soleil Matin, and Verve Matin, and a little less intense than, say, Lautus.
Like Steven’s recent three releases, Siesta Drive and Buck’s other two are priced at the lower point of $145 for 100ml, with various discounts available, and both aspects are really great and make for some surprisingly good deals if you’re in the market for multiple bottles.
