Here we have the eau de parfums set from the house of Maison Crivelli. 10 Beautiful fragrances delivered in a beautiful red box straight to my house for a mere €39. You get a redeemable code might you decide to purchase a full bottle. Let’s see what’s in the box:
- Papyrus Moléculaire
- Iris Malikhân
- Neroli Nasimba
- Santal Volcanique
- Absinthe Boréale
- Rose Saltifolia
- Citrus Batikanga
- Bois Datchaï
- Fleur Diamantine
- Lys Sølaberg
Overall I’m very satisfied with the box. Yes there are some stinkers that made it into the set and some lesser interesting ones. But the good ones are really really good and make up for all of that. I’ve got three straight up loves from it that ended on my wishlist. Definitely going to buy a full bottle of these, the only question is which one's first?

Let's begin with my top 3:Papyrus Moléculaire - Beautiful soft and dry scent. A tiny bit of herbs make it remind me of Greence. Dries down into a sandalwood that's to die for.
Iris Malikhân - Powdery, dusty almost, but still buttery creamy iris. This made me fall in love with iris so much that I now stacked my sniff-list full of iris scents. The fact that it's powdery on the one hand and buttery on the other hand makes it so weird and unique to me. It also has a bit of a play-doh kinda vibe with me.
Neroli Nasimba - Also a totally unique scent to me. Think of the softest leather ever, waxed with a substance of cleanliness, all wrapped in paper. My son described it as the scent of a shoebox with new leather shoes. Yep that hit the nail on the head.
Next up some of the more mainstream fragrances of which personally I don't find it worth to shell out for. The scents are okay but just... bland, you'll probably be better off getting something cheaper. Santal Volcanique is a typical sandalwood-forward perfume. If you love sandalwood you'll definitely love this, but I'm just a bit bored with that smell. It's everywhere.
Absinthe Boréale is a nice fresh barbershop fragrance (not sure why it's marketed unisex). But to be honest the best barbershop fragrances are available for the price of a bag of chips.
Citrus Batikanga same story. It's the "terre d'hermes" of Maison Crivelli. Fresh, citrus, pepper, cedarwood. It doesn't beat terre d'hermes in scent, longevity nor sillage.
I'm a bit undecided on Bois Datchaï. It's unique, it smells like a fresh blackcurrant lemonade. Sweet, fruity, green. Not bad at all! Maybe now's (winter) is just not the time to wear it. And maybe it fits a lady better. I like it a lot but somehow I don't get the urge to spray it on very often.
Then the most rosey rose I've ever smelled: Rose Saltifolia . It's truly a great smelling pink rose in the bloom of its life. An amazing smell for a lady.
And last but not least. Or actually they are the least: Fleur Diamantine and
Lys Sølaberg. I do appreciate them, like I appreciate every Maison Crivelli until now. There is a certain DNA in all of these fragrances that are alluring and interesting, kind of addicting even. But these last two are just a no to me. The first one is this floral bouquet that reminds me of a potpourri that fits a toiletspray. And Lys Sølaberg starts afresh and also ends on the toilet, as a bit of a pissy scent.
As I said, all in all there are some great scents to discover here. Nothing's drawing outside of the lines but some very unique scents nonetheless.
Any experience with any of these? What's your favorite? Which one speaks to you the most? Please share your thoughts!
Bois Datchaï sounds most interesting to me - can't say I've ever tried a "blackcurrant lemonade" scent before, but I bet it would be refreshing in spring or summer.
Great article per usual!
Ah well Papyrus is great as well. Looking forward to your findings on Absinthe and Bois!
