Self-confidence with a kick of sharpness
This fragrance is pure confidence in a bottle. With rather medium sillage and great longevity for a citrusy freshy, I didn't quite know what to expect when I ordered it to test. Directly from the bottle it smells almost a little synthetic, but in an elegant, almost somewhat distant way.
Applied to the skin, it transforms. The citrus notes are present throughout, which was quite intentional by Duchaufour, as the bergamot and rhubarb notes are found in the heart. However, right from the start, cardamom and a certain chilli spiciness are also present, rounding out the scent and making it quite different from the typical bergamot scent we've all grown tired of by now. It's tart and spicy, very slightly sweet and sensual due to the musk. At first sniff I would classify it very slightly masculine, but on me (w) it takes on just as much feminine form.
Immediately after applying and over the drydown rhubarb, chili and cardamom remain present. Very easily then comes the myrrh to it and remains and together with bergamot and pomelo for several hours. At the very end, actually about eight hours for me, an interesting vetiver and cardamom hint remain, keeping a fresh note through the fenugreek and still worlds away from a standard scent. This scent is for me an extremely sexy and definitely unisex experience that you have to get involved with first to love it
