Big cats' armpits fragrance with a touch of lemon
I tried the entire eau de parfum collection by Maison Crivelli, and while I enjoyed the journey, none of them truly captured my heart.

Citrus Batikanga evokes two things for me: the zoo near the big cat enclosures, with its distinctly animalic scents, despite the lemon trying to lighten it; and the overcrowded subway, where I often find myself stuck in the unpleasant armpit zone due to my small stature. This fragrance gives off a sweaty and macerated vibe, albeit with a touch of sophistication. It's not for me, clearly.

Spicy warmth and citrus
I liked this—the citrus and pepper are present from the beginning, with bit of spicy warmth added by the fenugreek maybe? I love rhubarb so was hoping to get that, but I didn’t. I found it very pleasant and a bit different from the usual. It reminded me of the cologne my first boyfriend wore in the 1980s—Jacomo by Jacomo. The longevity isn’t remarkable and it mellows out to a skin scent quite quickly.

Fine??
I never made up my mind on how I felt about this. I gave my sampler away after a couple wears so I clearly wasn't crazy about it.

I found on my skin it opened as a standard citrus but then pulled bitter. I still found it very wearable but never loved it on myself. Fine, but nothing that I'd write home about.

Self-Confidence with a Kick of Spiciness
This fragrance is pure self-confidence in a bottle. With rather moderate sillage and great longevity for a citrusy freshy, I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I ordered it for testing. Straight from the bottle, it smells almost a bit synthetic, but in an elegant, almost somewhat distant way.
Once applied to the skin, it transforms. The citrus notes are consistently present, which was certainly intended by Duchaufour, as the bergamot and rhubarb notes can be found in the heart. However, right from the start, there are also cardamom and a certain spiciness from chili, which round out the fragrance and make it quite different from the typical bergamot scent that we have all become accustomed to. It is bitter and spicy, slightly sweet and sensual due to the musk. At first sniff, I would categorize it as slightly masculine, but on me (w), it takes on just as much feminine form.
Immediately after application and throughout the dry down, rhubarb, chili, and cardamom remain present. Very subtly, myrrh joins in and stays, along with bergamot and pomelo, for several hours. Finally, after about eight hours on me, an interesting vetiver and a hint of cardamom remain, which retain a fresh note thanks to the fenugreek and are still worlds away from a standard fragrance. This scent is, for me, an extremely sexy and definitely unisex experience that one must first embrace to truly love it.

It's May 3rd, 2021....
..and it's a crisp 12 degrees with me. In May.
It's still sitting in the corner, perhaps the cap has gathered a bit of dust and is waiting eagerly and patiently.
Waiting for what?
For summer, because that's where it belongs.
This fragrance was sold to me back then with the words: "You have to imagine, when you wear it and you're in the sun or sweating a little, it changes - fundamentally."
I was so taken with it, I HAD to buy it - once again, I just had to have most perfumes - and lo and behold - a citrusy scent, but if I were to associate it with a color, it would be dark yellow - maybe with a slight reddish tint. A dark lemon, where the spiciness of the chili soon comes in - quite aggressively, in fact.
All in all, this fragrance remains interesting and becomes even more so as you wear it - and you hardly need to reapply, even with a summery scent like this one - it just gets more intriguing.
It has now replaced my summer classic, which makes me a bit nostalgic, but it is a worthy substitute.

This smells like Amba, if you know you know. In the best way possible.

Unpleasant citrus. smells like some cleaning product. Unattractive but I'm not a fan of citruses. Generic, simple, linear, nothing memorable.

Mild and general citrus, mild spice, synthetic muskiness, big meh. Crazy price for basically smelling 'nice'

Feels like a Cire Trudon candle, fades quickly into submission. Spiced citrus smells of tranquility. Performance is as expected of the genre

Opens aromatic-camphorous & citrusy w/ a prominent fresh spiciness, vintage Creed feel. But dies to 0 within hours as every note fades.

Inspired by a tropical cocktail of citrus, spice and chilli. Lasts about as long as drinking one too.

Chili, grapefruit and myrrh for a slightly quirky opening. Resinous spicy citrus drying down to warm soap.

Not all that citrussy. Getting herbs like basil and anise. Bit peppery also. Didn’t like it as much as I hoped.

This citrus scent is not refreshing at all.
And it's a very old-fashioned fragrance.
It doesn't excite me at all.
A fail.
