Amarena cherry + controversy
First of all, it should be noted that the fanboys and the haters seem to gather under this fragrance. Some praise the fragrance to the hilt, while others trample all over it.

Neither helps to form an opinion about the fragrance. So here is my objective opinion.

Like Oud31, this fragrance is at a very high level in terms of craftsmanship. The RRP is, in my opinion, more than fair.

Now to the development of the fragrance: as the title suggests, the first 15-20 minutes are reminiscent of an amarena cherry, as you would expect from an ice cream sundae. As previously mentioned in other reviews, the cherry of Cherry X has absolutely nothing to do with a Lost Cherry or a Jump up and Kiss me hedonistic. The cherry note of Cherry X is very well enveloped by the cognac.

As the fragrance progresses, after 2-3 hours, the cherry gradually fades into the background and tonka bean, sandalwood, vanilla and oud take over. I think there is a slight tendency towards oud31 here. A similar "signature" cannot be denied, although both perfumes were created by different perfumers. But I think it's pretty cool that there are a few "signature" fragrance notes in both perfumes. This creates a consistent image and provides recognition value. If you test both fragrances blindly without knowing the person behind them or knowing that it was the idea of one person, you could deduce this from the similar signature.

However, I would like the cherry to be present for longer. After 3-4 hours, it is almost completely dominated by sandalwood, vanilla and tonka. If the fragrance is named after the cherry, it should, in my opinion, be more present. Perhaps the black cherry would also do well in the base. But I'm not a perfumer.

Now to the controversial performance: I sprayed the fragrance on my wrist from a tester bottle in the perfumery. That was around midday, at the time of the review (half past midnight) the fragrance is still perceptible. Even if "only" close to my skin or when I hold my cell phone in front of me. While driving, the pleasant amarena cherry in combination with sandalwood and vanilla often came to my nose.

Of course, you can't expect a performance as powerful as that of Oud31. But I don't think the performance is weak either. It could perhaps be a little stronger - so that you can enjoy this great cherry for longer.

But I only put 2 sprays on my wrist. If you spray the other side + neck and clothes with it, you can definitely achieve a good 10-12 hours. More than fair for the RRP in my opinion.

The first review hits the nail on the head
Today I finally had the opportunity to test a few fragrances from Nabeel.

In addition to "The Spirit of Dubai - Abjar | Nabeel", there was also "Dubai - Bahar (Eau de Parfum) | Nabeel".

The very first review by Ischglroi sums it up perfectly:
My first thought when spraying it on was actually "It smells like Invictus!!!" or invictus auqa!

Shortly afterwards, I wanted to read up on the fragrance notes here and lo and behold: a single review - and it also emphasizes the similarity of the fragrance!
That's amazing!

Now to the fragrance: unlike some other Nabeel fragrances, the "Dubai - Bahar (Eau de Parfum) | Nabeel" is very suitable for everyday use.
As it says in the answer to the first review, Nabeel's fragrance was launched in 2015, while the mainstream followed in 2016 with a similar scent.

I think that's a shame... the fragrance is really great! Super balanced and it smells high-quality.
However, and this is the problem: everyone who smells this fragrance will initially think of a 0815 mainstream fragrance that you have already smelled on every corner.

So you have to say: the mainstream has ruined this fragrance... spending more than 250€ is unfortunately a waste. Unless you really value having the "original", which has shaped all other mainstream fragrances. But then that's only for your own conscience, every ordinary consumer will think of invictus.

In terms of performance, however, it has to be said that "Dubai - Bahar (Eau de Parfum) | Nabeel" puts all others in the shade. The silage could be even stronger, but it's good as it is! Not obtrusive, but still perceptible.
Another positive aspect is that, in
The mainstream, there is a real emphasis on quality here. As an experienced parfumo, you can smell this quality. While the typical Douglas product is full of synthetics, the fragrances here are literally worn. They all play around each other and create a wonderful fragrance picture.

A really very good fragrance that has been copied far too often.

From zero to hero
First of all: I didn't know the brand or the perfumer beforehand.

When we strolled into one of the numerous niche perfumeries near Marienplatz in Munich (actually looking for 2 other fragrances from a different brand), we got to know Toni Cabal's fragrances.

It hit us completely unexpectedly:
Wow! This is still a real niche! All the fragrances were a new, finally varied experience for our noses! You know the standard "niche brands" like Xerjoff, Terenzi, MFK and co. Although they are all fragrances in their own right, they are somehow similar. We smelled the known and unknown representatives of the respective brands and just thought "Wow, that looks familiar. I've smelled that before" or "smells good, but not special enough".

The owner of the perfumery then showed us Toni Cabal's fragrances. It was a small request for her, as she really likes the fragrances and celebrates the perfumer.

Before I buy a fragrance, I try to find out more about the performance on Parfumo. Because as is so often the case, the sellers say with every fragrance: "it lasts until the next day! Even beyond that!" I once made the mistake of believing it and fell for the scam. I then started to "play it safe" beforehand. The community is usually right when it comes to H/S.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any entries yet. I really had a bad feeling in my stomach at first because I was afraid of being talked into something again. On the other hand, I immediately liked the fragrance so much that I didn't want to just leave it on the shelf. And as an experienced fragrance addict, you can smell whether the fragrance has power or not as soon as you spray it on.

So I took the risk and bought it. 175€ for 100ml is a very fair price! Almost "cheap" for the niche.

We had the owner explain to us how Mr. Cabal makes his fragrance essences. Really impressive, still real handwork by a very small, select team. And I have to say, you can smell the quality! She had previously told us how the fragrances are made and I suspected a price in excess of €250, as is the case with small-batch products.

I haven't regretted my purchase since! I applied the fragrance the very next morning and even in the evening it was still quite noticeable! After a long day at work, that's really impressive for such a "small", still unknown brand! So far I only knew such staying power from the well-known Beastmode fragrances like "Naxos | XerJoff", "Ombre Nomade | Louis Vuitton" or "Erba Pura | XerJoff"!

Long story short, what does the fragrance smell like?
To put it briefly and succinctly: like a creamy pina colada!

Later on, the fragrance smells like a very expensive hand cream, with a coconut scent! Really amazing!
And despite the initially "feminine" scent, the fragrance is really very unisex, which you might not expect when you first read the fragrance notes.
The coconut used is really a very natural coconut note, not intrusive and yet not too quiet! Really well balanced! And above all, it's not synthetic, as you might expect from fragrances such as "Malibù - Party In The Bay | Simone Andreoli" or "Fan Your Flames | Nishane".

It must be clearly stated that this fragrance is only for people who love and enjoy coconut fragrances.

But: even my girlfriend, who is not really a fan of coconut, was immediately blown away by this fragrance!

After my first own Cabal, there are now more fragrances on my wish list - and my girlfriend's!

A lot of oud and yet nothing behind it..
As the name already suggests, this perfume revolves around the raw material "oud".

This fragrance I had to test as an oud lover therefore necessarily.

Right away: apparently I do not belong to the typical target group in terms of age. I am still young 25 and the fragrance is for my sensation quite clearly for 50+.

First: Who is afraid of an animalic oud note can be reassured. Animalik is almost not or not at all present. Who is looking for a fragrance that falls off the grid and goes other ways, which is unfortunately also wrong here.

All in all, this fragrance is neither good nor bad for me. It takes any tension out of the raw material oud and makes it generally wearable. Due to the many combinations of the different oud varieties, the uniqueness falls completely by the wayside, all the special features of each variety are completely lost in the mish-mash.
Result is a "people-pleaser", he does not tick off and tries to do everything right.

At the same time, one wonders then: what is then the sense of the fragrance and of the fact that one mixes so many varieties together?
The fragrance smells to me just old and musty. Hence also initially my comment that I am too young for this fragrance.

A certain orientalism is given but now also not so that you want to have this fragrance necessarily if you are on oriental fragrances.

Durability is stable but not earth-shattering. Silage is weak. Thus, one falls in any case not on.
Too bad. I would have liked him, because he actually sounds very exciting because of the notes.

If you don't like fresh scents, you should keep your hands off it
If you've already seen my other reviews of the new MGO releases, you'll probably think I'm repeating myself
I don't know why, but for me all the fragrances (with the exception of the "Tonka Deluxe | Duftanker MGO Duftmanufaktur") are in the same citrusy-fresh direction.

You have to really like citrusy scents to want this fragrance (or the others).

I generally don't like fresh, citrusy fragrances, but I tried it anyway because the fragrance is included in MGO's Discovery Set.

For me, this fragrance, like the others in the release, goes in a strangely fresh direction. I just get toilet stone vibes here. I can't make out anything else in the scent either. For me, the fragrance has no progression, no change. It smells like a toilet in the morning after spraying it on and in the afternoon it still smells like a toilet. Based on the fragrance notes, I was actually expecting a certain change from citrusy-fresh to sweet-woody. But there is no sign of this, at least on my skin. I also get zero floral notes.

Nevertheless, the fragrance smells just as strong in the afternoon as it does in the morning. So there's nothing wrong with the H/S. But unfortunately that's it...
