Perfume for my Mother

Perfume for my Mother 0

My father and I are looking for a fragrance for my mom's birthday. My mom isn't largely into fragrance, and tends to wear the same thing everyday, London for Women. I figured it would be cool to get her another bottle so that she can switch things up every now and then. She is curious about my perfume addiction/collection and has mentioned wanting to expand her tastes a few times.

She enjoys Her Eau de Parfum and I know she loves when I wear The Point. Unfortunately, that's all I know about her tastes. I am assuming she likes florals, particularly jasmine. I do not think she'd like gourmand or overly sweet scents. I was wondering if y'all could take what little information I have given you and recommend a few interesting perfumes for her.

As a side note, she primarily works in her own office, so I'd prefer if these perfumes had more personal sillage, but good longevity.

Maybe something from Diptyque? They have some inoffensive easy-to-wear but still interesting floral scents, like Eau Rose or Fleur de Peau

Paura dell'Acqua is a fresh and light tuberose that might be interesting. It's different from normal heavy tuberose. The same brand, ānti, also has a grassy scent with honeysuckle Le Jardinier, which might be interesting. I discovered ānti this year and was very impressed with their scents

Regime des Fleurs Tears is a mild lilac scent, might work?

ELDO Exit the King is a light clean rose chypre, soapy in a fresh kind of way

Alkemia Come to Me is a beautiful jasmine scent (if oil perfumes are an option)

I am honestly unsure if I'm even going in a remotely correct direction by recommending light florals 😅 I am only recommending those I myself found interesting, and which I think a person who is not used to many perfumes can handle

A side note, moms I know tend to love Jo Malone for some reason 😀 I myself own her Blackberry & Bay cologne, because it's still the best light summer blackberry scent to wear. The longevity is not great because they are colognes, they are fairly inexpensive so they can be reapplied throughout the day

Maybe a sample-set is a good idea if she wants to expand her tastes?

If she likes jasmine and white florals, I would recommend the magical yet very wearable Honour Woman Eau de Parfum... I’d also suggest Honour 43 and Ashore, as well as Granada and Marfa Eau de Parfum by Memo Paris. Maybe some Guerlain like Jasmin Bonheur or Joyeuse Tubéreuse to treat her for her birthday. You could take her to the store, let her smell around, and choose what she likes.

Seconding this! I’d recommend Gallivant for wide variety, Imaginary Authors for something a little more unique, Jovoy for a classic mix, and Dries van Noten for something elevated and minimal

this is a good idea BUT my mom is really weird about samples. i could see her never using them or thinking im cheap for getting her tiny perfumes. i might get the sample set for myself and just wear it around her until she comments on one that she likes. my mom is very particular about her cosmetics, she never uses any of the tiny things i get for her

DIPTYQUE! perfect... i'll get her a diptyque scent. they're just bougie enough for her, whilst also being just affordable enough for me and my father. fleur de peau seems her speed, thank you!
