Rose + Patchouli 🌸🍃

Rose + Patchouli is the current itch that I am looking to scratch 🌸🍃

So far I have smelled:

La Fille de Berlin Eau de Parfum - This is very nice. The palmarosa is so perfectly situated.

Portrait of a Lady Eau de Parfum - Legendary for a reason. Sadly, it leans a little too sweet/fruity for me. I do like the incense in the base though.

Eau Capitale Eau de Parfum - Good. Inoffensive chypre structure. But like all Dyptique, its competence fails to thrill.

French Affair - Love/Hate. Need to sit with this more. The litchi is prominent and at first I find it distracting. As time goes on, it takes on a salty, sweaty, quality that I find intriguing. Also a chypre. Nice oakmoss.

Patchouli Ardent Yum. I like the leather note in this but it’s a bit sweet.

Ardent Eau de Parfum is already a full-bottle true love. The oud, the vanilla, saffron, carrot seed, jasmine. It’s so good but its a big, bold fragrance and I am wanting something a little more low key.

Radical Rose Eau de Parfum - Very sweet and not as wonderfully complex as Ardent. I like it but leans very bold.

Do you love rose + patchouli? What else might you recommend?

I like Bull's Blood (2023) for a powerful patchouli rose, but it’s also fairly tobacco-forward and has some animalic notes right out of the gate, so… if that doesn’t sound like something you’d be into, proceed with caution?

Bull's Blood (2023) – darker and more animalic; if you enjoy bold rose-patchouli compositions, this one adds leather and smoky depth.

Rose + patchouli is not really my thing, but as usual, when you have something so clear in mind which is a specific note or combination the best house to browse is always Profumum Roma.

I really didn't know Bull's Blood (2023) has prominent floral notes. I thought it was just animalic. Maybe I should buy it.

I think you’d really enjoy Perles de Lalique it has that dry, elegant chypre feel with a peppery rose and earthy patchouli that feels classy without trying too hard. Bull's Blood (2023) could also be right up your alley if you enjoy fragrances with a dirtier, leathery, slightly animalic edge. It’s bold but really interesting. Hunter Intense Eau de Toilette is a nice more low-key option. It’s smoother and easier to wear with the rose and patchouli sitting underneath the woods really nicely.

Moonlight Patchouli is my favorite .

Patchouli + Rose is one of my favourite combos.

I love Eau Capitale Eau de Parfum and Portrait of a Lady Eau de Parfum of course,

but one I haven’t seen mentioned by others is Bois Étoilé.

It’s a really nice oud + patchouli + rose and spices fragrance for a good price point:)

This is a good one. Not sure if Psychédélique counts... there is a rose note, but it's one of my favorite patchouli's.
