Lattafa perfumes - hit or miss for you?

Lattafa perfumes - hit or miss for you? 1

Hi everyone!

I was wondering what are your thoughts on Lattafa perfumes? I see some of them are an instant hit and disappear from souk in matter of hours, but then again, I read really bad reviews about (some of) their fragrances.

I wasn't really interested in them until buying Teriaq which, to be honest, really blew my mind. Really good and affordable perfume. Now I'm waiting for Eclaire to come. Those to are, as far as I had a chance to observe, fastest selling Lattafas here. Very Happy

Are some of them just hyped up by influencers, are they "just" dupes or fragrances worth keep in mind when buying?

Please, share your thoughts with me and the rest of Parfumo community. They're on my radar after Quentin's creation, but I keep getting mixed up signals. I know we're in "subjective perception" domain here, but nevertheless I want to here what you think of this perfume house...

Thanks! 👋🏻

As long as you know what fragrances you enjoy (and don't have a strong preference for the original bottle), they're a pretty good option! "Nebras | Lattafa / لطافة" for instance, is a very close dupe of Eilish (Eau de Parfum)Eilish Eau de Parfum and lasts longer. I ultimately ended up purchasing eilish in the smallest size, since i really liked the bottle design, but would probably go for nebras after using it up.

On the flipside, i didn't love Angels' ShareAngels' Share and while Khamrah / خمرةKhamrah isn't an exact dupe, they're for sure in the same family - and so, i found that i didn't enjoy the latter either. Thankfully, i tested out most of these by purchasing decants first. If you stick with the type of scents you know you like, you should do fine! 💕

Have you tried Bianco LatteBianco Latte by any chance?

Thank you so much for your insights. Very Happy I've read about Nebras and Billie, I believe Ariana's Cloud is here somewhere too?!

I'll certainly try one or two of those, it's a fragrance type I really like. I haven't tried Bianco Latte (just Scintilla from GDT) but some say Eclaire is a dupe for that so I decided to give it a go... 🙈

Also, same motif for ordering Khair Pistachio, sooo many people say it's stronger and better longevity-wise than Yum Gelato so I started to ask myself is it simply wiser to buy dupes. 🤷‍♀️

Just my opinions with some facts. Most of them are aroma chemical mixes which make them smell more synthetic and alcohol like but in the same time you mostly get monstrous sillage and projection like longevity as well. If you are not so used to natural ingredients there is a bigger chance that you like them but if you have like hundred good quality perfumes with natural or in a natural way made notes, they are not worth it. What comes to some cheaper celebrity perfumes or designers the difference of the quality is not always so huge since most of them are not so natural anyway. Summa summarum for me they are just dupes with poor quality and some are hyped by influencers. Anyway I understand that perfumes are every expensive and dupes may be the tempting choice. Personally I don't want to waste my money so I don't buy them but everyone buys and wear what they love.

I have a decant of Khamrah / خمرةKhamrah and like it. And I bought a full bottle of Khamrah Qahwa / خمرةKhamrah Qahwa and love it.

Teriaq / ترياقTeriaq is on my purchase list!

All perfumes have a pretty significant percentage of synthetic ingredients. The key is the quality they achieve. I have several Lattafa and other Arabic ones that are of excellent quality, compared to the originals that I also have.

In Lattafa in particular, the Sceptre line is really good. I have a Fortnight, which emulates Fahrenheit quite well.
The Salvo, related to Sauvage, are good too. The classic Maahir has amazing projection and longevity.

I really like them in general! They're definitely more to my liking than the average western drugstore cheapies. Most of them aren't 100% exact dupes in my experience, many are more loosely inspired. One of my favorites is "Yara (Eau de Parfum) | Lattafa / لطافة" , which doesn't really smell like anything else. And I actually prefer "Nebras | Lattafa / لطافة" over Eilish (Eau de Parfum)Eilish Eau de Parfum, they're close, but not exactly the same. Like every house, they have some duds, too, for example "Yara Moi | Lattafa / لطافة" didn't impress me at all. Khamrah / خمرةKhamrah is nice, but in this case I like the expensive version Angels' ShareAngels' Share better. I think it's always a good idea to test both if something is a dupe or closely related, especially if you're not on a strict budget and could afford either. Just be honest to yourself and listen to your nose. I'm currently trying to decide between Bianco LatteBianco Latte and Eclaire / اكلايرEclaire and it isn't easy 🤯

Btw, most expensive niche houses use lots of synthetics, too. There is nothing wrong with them, without synthetics we would have very limited options in perfumerey. Both natural and synthetic ingredients can be of varying quality, and no perfume house, cheap or expensive, will officially disclose that they used lower quality ingredients, so it's more of a guessing game. Sure, a 5 € fragrance will not contain expensive ingredients, but some 250€ fragrances might not have them either. Composition also plays a big part in the overall quality of a fragrance. And what we perceive as overly/unpleasantly synthetic smelling differs from person to person. For me personally the base of Erba PuraErba Pura is much more nose-burningly synthetic than most Axe body sprays 🫣

@Seltzerpapi what makes you love Khamrah Qahwa / خمرةKhamrah Qahwa ? I've been curious about this one!

@DogiCoco@Marioe6 agreed, thank you for saying this - synthetics are all around us in fragrance, just depends on how well they're done/the overall blend!

@Gourmandgrl it's cozy and soft. It's sweet without being cloying. And it's dense without being overwhelming.

I will write detailled reviews about both soon, but I need another trial before I say anything 😄 They are really very close to my nose, when I test them I get so confused at times 🫣

I looooooove Yara, it's so pretty. Nebras has been tempting me, but I'm not 100% sure on it yet. Haya / هياHaya didn't deliver as I was expecting, but is a nice fragrance.

350 years later I finally did it and wrote reviews for Eclaire / اكلايرEclaire , Bianco LatteBianco Latte and also La Nuit BlancheLa Nuit Blanche (another dupe of those). Sorry, that wasn't soon at all 🫣 I also bought Eclaire now 💘

Unfortunately Lattafa is a miss to me.

I've been trying a few of them without exit. In my skin they are definitely too heavy and cloying.

I don't know if they're good dupes or not, but I've recently sampled a whole bunch of them and I was really blown away. I think they are pretty amazing on their own merits, without comparison to other, pricier fragrances. I definitely want to explore more of Lattafa.

I just checked my spreadsheet and have seven from  Lattafa. My favorites are Ameer Al Oud Intense (love at first sniff) and Khamrah Qahwa.

Cheers!
