Boring, expensive iris
From the house that release Iris Torrefie and Iris Ganache this is truly a boring iris, not worth the money. Doesn't do anything new, nor does it explore perfecting a familiar iris profile. A soapy iris with a bit of carrot seed in the opening, also slightly lactonic and floral. I'm especially disappointed because of how expensive this is but is subpar to every Guerlain scent that features iris in some way. Save your money and get L'heure Blue or Apres L'ondee instead.

Soapy Iris
This extrait is making me second guess my love for iris. I love the use of iris in fragrances like Dior Homme and Shalimar Millesime Iris, but this one goes in a far different direction than those do. Where those are syrupy, powdery and very dense, this iris is very light, soapy and almost fresh. There is still a powdery facet to it but in a bit more of a dated sense than the aforementioned fragrances. I liken the scent of iris within this extrait to the dry down of L'Heure Bleue, which is spicier, soapy and highly powdery. While it certainly hasn't impressed me in the same regard as the others, I do think it's a great example of how different species of certain ingredients can smell drastically different, and how a perfumer can render certain molecules in a certain way that also changes the way they smell. Comparing this to other iris-based fragrances has definitely helped expand my knowledge of the note, but I can't say I prefer this over the others.

I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed or upset about this extrait, but I was definitely expecting something different than I got. For the price, I wouldn't say that this fragrance is worth it, especially when compared to other iris fragrances by Guerlain and otherwise that are, in my eyes, more unique. I am however, still elated to have been able to experience this extrait given it's exclusivity!

The most alluring Iris ever
For me, Iris smell was always associated with lipstick .. DIOR Homme is to blame but also various other interpretations of Orris Root note.

In here, this must be the best kind of orris butter because it smells addictive, suave in the sense that I would love to smell it on a woman .. but not on myself. And no, it does not smell like lipstick.

The amount of naturals used is crazy, it keeps transforming and evolving up the last hours of longevity. For me, on the left wrist where I keep the watch, it lasted 24 hours.. as a mix between skin and watch band.

The price is not for us, the mortals .. but for the selected few which will get one of these bottles, it will be a scent to remember.

Only for iris lovers
Smooth, creamy, floral, Iris Pallida Extrait 6 is an iris soliflore, or at least it is what I imagine the iris fantasy note to smell like in practical isolation. The parts of the iris that are used in perfumery are the rhizomes, which are part of the underground stem. So its scent doesn't come from the flower itself like other florals such as jasmine or rose. The "iris" note is created by mixing the butter made from the orris root with other natural or synthetic florals.

Here orris butter is used liberally. Surrounded by florals, musks, and light woods and leather, the soft creamy slightly earthy quality of the substance shines. I thought I could pull this one off but it ended up being too floral on me for my taste. But on the right person, this juice would be phenomenal.

Cuddly carrot for every occasion
Iris Pallida Extrait by Guerlain - does it have the Iris Ganache vibes we're all hoping for, or is it an 18-carrot-love affair, like Hermé's Hiris? Firstly, it's of excellent quality and long-lasting, just like the other two from this new range that I've already tried.
Again, it is very comfortable and wearable, not too risky.
The first few seconds actually gave this carrot-like feeling, slightly soapy but not pungent on the nose, softly-softly.
Then it gets a cashmere feeling, becomes warmer and feels pleasantly powdery.
I really like the greenish base - it's barely there - which adds some novelty to the otherwise softly creamy-floral scent.
Basically, it's not gourmand, doesn't have much to do with "The Ganache", but puts a sweetly musky spin on the iris theme.
Very pretty. Will be a hit, at least with me.

Papery, grey-toned powder with a buttery quality. Not cold or rooty. Opens bready, settles into a thick orris scent like luxurious lotion.

Spicy and musky almonds, maybe something leathery. I can not detect any iris.

Guerlinade with orris, musk and suede. Very powdery and cosmetic-like. For a much lesser price, try Après l'Ondée.

This isn't an iris extrait - she's hardly present. The musk overwhelms everything. Too generic for a Guerlain extrait. Marketing catfishing!
