JHAG made me a musk convert.

I have a number of fragrances that incorporate musk in their profile, but none that really put it front and center the way Pear Inc. does. I just don't tend to really *get* musks or skin scents, especially as they often incorporate iris or violet notes, which I almost never like and tend to read as really grandma-esque on me.

Anyway, JHAG gave me the option to add a sample of this to my order for freesies, so I said, what the heck, let's do it. No regrets! This musk isn't too skin-y and doesn't rest on any florals. It's giving more fresh-linen-shirt-on-skin than the skin itself. And that image is especially fitting because, like detergent, this is a bit synthetic-y, but that does die down over its medium wear time.

It's bright and fresh and juicy. In that way, it's similar to Valentino Donna Born in Roma Coral Fantasy (too many words in that title omg), but a teeny tiny bit warmer thanks to the ambroxan, and a little bit more unexpeted thanks to the lack of florals.

I am sure I'll be reaching for the sample and crawling back for a bigger bottle.

Bubbly, sparkly pear

Pear Inc oscillates between crisp pears, sweet pear-flavored candy, fresh soap bubbles and sparkling citrus soda. I can't decide which aspect I get the most. Like many JHAG it smells intentionally lab-made, but in this case it's fun and bubbly and not scratchy or sterile. For some reason I find the bottle color really fitting for the scent, even though I never associated pears or clean scents with those dark teal hues before.

It's been a while since I tried Not A Perfume, but to my nose this doesn't resemble the fuzzy woodsy aura of that one too much. Instead it reminds me of D&G Light Blue in a way. The pear note is obviously a big difference, but the sweet, zesty citrus top and clean cedar-ish woodsy base together are quite similar. If someone gave me an unlabeled sample of this and told me it was a new Light Blue flanker, I wouldn't have doubted it.

I don't always get along with JHAG, but this is a good one.
My only small problem is that it turns very sweet on me after a while, which doesn't happen on paper. I love sweetness in general, I just think this specific scent doesn't profit from it, this should be fresher. It's definitely a skin chemistry thing though. See for yourself if you like pear and don't mind some synthetic clean vibes.

Worth? Maybe

let's start by saying that I haven't smelled many pear fragrances but I really liked this one, it is declared as a feminine fragrance but I would have no problem wearing it. the notes are few: the pear that dominates and then ambroxan, musk and amber that give body to the perfume. not much else to say except that it doesn't last very long, which is a real shame, if the performance had been better, i would have bought a bottle.
as always I advise against blind buys, see you next time :)

My pear friend

My mom like it, I love it. She bought it in 8 ml and i like it much more than she does. It smells like pear ice cream, i think. I like the ambroxan in the background. I must say, I LOVE IT! First I think, What a ----
are this?, but after I love it more than all perfumes in the world.

Ambroxan pear

Fresh pear that’s clean, easy going, sweet & fresh at the same time.

The smell is clean and linear, so theoretically I should at least be neutral towards it, but the typical ambroxan-heavy JHAG style bothers me more that usually. Performance is poor and in line with my experience with this brand (3h tops).

I usually love pear notes in perfumes, and feel like they shine through in combination with florals - think Villa Primerose from Atelier des Ors or Gold Immortals from Ex Nihilo. This one is also more synthetic than I like.
