This is magical
When Peter Steele said "Her perfume smells like burning leaves" in Black no.1, THIS is the perfume he was talking about, this is dark, depressing, mysterious, foresty, this perfume embodies the essence of serenity and I am in love with it. To explain the scent, to me it opens up smelling like foresty pine, grass, soil, wet wood, and incense, drying down into a dark, almost burnt, smoke, incense, patchouli, and wood combination, with the slightest kiss of rose, I feel like unexperienced noses would not enjoy this, but that's not my problem, I would TOTALLY wear this, comfortably, it smells absolutely incredible.

Such a disappointment
Testing this today. The pine at the top is nothing as the one in Fille en Aiguilles, which is what I had hoped for. It smells artificial, like pine scented toilet cleaner, car perfume etc. That goes away quickly and I get a strong note of jammy, sirupy, cloying rose, because my skin always amplifies the rose notes. There’s a bit of incense and some screechy patchouli at the back. The drydown is woody with mild amber, but it just feels like it’s not well blended and smells dated. Had some friends smell this on me and they all agreed it smells like our grandmas in the 80s. Mind you, they all used cheap rose perfumes back then. A hard pass from me

It takes two to tango.
It was a blind buy when I was looking for a substitute of my decade`s favourite Sisley. I don't know any more what pushed me to purchase it, but I fell in love immediately. It is pine, it is cedar, it is wood, it was a love from the first sniff. Clean and crystal fragrance, not too colony, not too male, great unixes, making you feel easy, casual and comfortable. Prominent Patchouli and Earthy notes, I just unexpectedly found them so great and wonderful. That direction was totally new for me and I felt exited to dive into unknown!
It was a promising start, but sorry to say too short love story. Ecstasy didn't like me, after a couple of hours it turned into a smell of sunflower oil, which was so strong that I even felt being physically greasy und unwashed.
Several years passed since then and I still keep a bottle, hoping my skin will change and Ecstasy will love my back. Please, please, I will be your loyal and devoted wearer.

Interesting but completely uninspiring
Unfortunately, I was not impressed by this fragrance. When something is trying to portray a niche perfumery and often expensive story, I expect more.

I want to see that artisanal quality, and the ingredients cannot be on the cheaper side. In case when a fragrance is made from a familiar and well-known composition, we, the fragrance enthusiasts want something that will shake that genre and sweep us from our feet.

TOP NOTES
The fragrance opens up with honeyed pine needles and aromatic spruce with gentle undertones of jammy rose.

The combination of pine needles and spruce gives a foresty and resinous type of smell without going too much into the Christmas tree and holiday vibes which thanks to pebble accords gives it more of a watery impression.

Overall, I found that the rose used here is somewhat flat and recognizable from many other scents I have tried in the past, and smells soapy.

HEART NOTES
The change in the heart notes is quite obvious and a nice change of pace. The greens turn into a flowery and earthy smell thanks to the woody patchouli and lingering violet.

The rose is still prominent here, but softer due to the sweet smokiness from incense which becomes stronger, and the church smell starts to top above the other notes and accords.

BASE NOTES
By the time Ecstasy dries down, the soapy base gives it a nostalgic smell of realistic nature which is beautiful, but unfortunately uninspiring.

The semi-wet woods thrown into the campfire, somehow slightly burning is what the left of the fragrance
when it reaches the full dry down, and all the other notes had left their presence.

One to covet
I have been coveting this for a very long time. Smells like dark forest and an underbrush of ripe berries. Reminds me very much of Bois de Paradis, which I regretfully sold or swapped some time ago. But I think this has less sweetness to it. It's a beautiful, quality fragrance that does not smell like chemicals.

Open church in a deep forest... Pine, frankincence, moist woods and a touch of rose on a bed of amber and sandalwood. Wonderful creation...

Opens with overdose of synthetic air-fresher pine amberwood. Dries down to softer woods, incense and a fruity syrupy accord.

I’ve smelled hundreds of niche but this just smells like bad air freshener. The cheap, jelly type - lemon meets pine. Wtf TT!
