Leather Forward Resins

I love myrrh and had been looking for a fabulous, feminine myrrh perfume to take the place of my beloved Myrrh Ardente which is sadly discontinued. I love resinous scents, I love powdery scents, I love vanilla, so why don't I love this?

Leather.

To my surprise, the dry down of Myrrh Assoluto smells very close to a Scentsy room fragrance called "Weathered Leather". To my nose, it's an indistinctly sweetened, clean and slightly resinous leather scent. The opening is powdery and sweet with just a hint of undefined fruitiness, but it all quickly transitions to that leathery base accord within a few minutes. It is certainly unisex bordering on something that would usually be created as a masculine offering. Men should have zero qualms wearing this one.

While very nice and seemingly well made, I do not enjoy smelling of leather. My search for another feminine myrrh continues elsewhere.

Beautiful Myrrh

Yes, Myrrh is a leading component in this perfume, although it's calm and discreet here. The whole composition is quite sweet, but fortunately it stops just half a step away from becoming a gourmand.
I also find a lot of dense (floral) powder in it, but that in no way destroys the scent or makes it any cheaper. All in all, it's a beautiful and good-quality interpretation of the balsamic-resinous genre in a designer category.

It is unusual and quite rare

A wonderful, very spicy, warming fragrance for cool weather.
Naturally unisex. Sweet resinous myrrh. Quite strong. So you need to be very careful with the dosage. One application lasts for 5-6 hours. If you want to be alone and not be disturbed by anyone, you can apply more. The aroma drives away "evil spirits".
At the same time, the aroma envelops you like a cloud, calming and harmonizing. It is unusual and quite rare. There is something in common with Tom Ford Black Orchid. But still they are different. Not everyone can wear this fragrance. I do not recommend buying without testing! Although the fragrance has already been discontinued and is not so easy to find.

Kashmir coat on naked skin

The fact that on grey days under grey clothes there doesn't necessarily have to be a musty grey scent, that's what this Valentina stands for despite its colouring.

The first thing that comes my way is an intense, very dense jasmine with a very buttery note. Normally this impact knocks me out immediately.
Usually.
But here myrrh steers against it so directly that my "instant knockout" thoughts are immediately lost.

While this interplay of the two notes wafts around my nose, I get an association with Amouage fragrances, especially Epic Woman, which I can call my own. Just like with the Amouages, you can clearly smell, analyse and enjoy the play of scents of the individual components. It's clearly not a comparison of scents, it's only about the scent framework, which is perceived in such detail by both of them and which also represents a high quality by both.
The slight melancholy that runs through Valentina Myrrha Assoluto from beginning to end makes me think of Epic again. Although they are not fresh and cheerful scents, their heavy and dense spicy vibes do not cause depression.
Rather, these opulent scented carpets invite you to sit down on their soft high pile and sink into them and into wonderful dreams.
The fact that Valentina Myrrha Assoluto still has a valuable, almost unsweet vanilla that comes to the fore over time is another reason to treat yourself to another drop of it.
I have a minimal perception of leather. Also ylang and musk rather in the extra role. After about a quarter of an hour, the buttery jasmine note, myrrh and vanilla come to my basic target as equal partners, where they then remain in a vibrating warmth for many hours.

To my senses, Valentina Myrrha Assoluto is as much a unisex scent as many of the Amouages are.
His breath can easily keep up with this big name, as can the Sillage.
If I didn't know who it was really emanating from, I would actually advise that it might be emanating from the Amouage center.

A beautiful, spicy, warming and special companion for rather cooler temperatures, with high quality notes and the same implementation.
