Straightforward powdery vanilla-heavy amber
Ambre Imperial is alright. It's a vanilla-heavy amber with no rough edges, no strong spicy or woody components. I don't perceive any bergamot, pink pepper, or cinnamon, just a straightforward blend of vanilla, benzoin, and tonka. A bit of powderiness in the base rounds it out, and that's about it. It's a reasonable fragrance for the price, if you want to pay a bit less than Noir Extreme Eau de Parfum and get something in the same ballpark (at discounters, of course. Retail price for this is ridiculous).

Amber-Vanilla combo!!
A very good amber scent, great bottle design as well yet too feminine for my taste.
Very delicate amber and the sweetness of vanilla comes slowly during wear time yet I felt it leans towards the feminine side, couldn't see myself rocking this one at all but sure thing I'd love woman wearing it

If sweet fruity amber are your thing, this is one of the best ones.

An elegant amber perfume, though a bit generic.
I got Ambre Imperial as part of a 10 ml travel set that also included Bois d’Amande and Moonlight Patchouli. Among the trio, Ambre Imperial has the mildest, least offensive personality. This perfume was created by Quentin Bisch in 2015.

Ambre Imperial opens with bergamot-tinted pink pepper that subsides very quickly. It is the heart notes of cinnamon and benzoin that stand out and define this perfume. If you like benzoin, this blend would look attractive to you. Towards the end of its life, Ambre Imperial become more tonka bean, resins and vanilla, staying true to its name. In short, it is an elegant amber, with more benzoin than cistus. My issue with Ambre Imperial is that none of these notes really make a stand or say anything great. I believe that Ambre Imperial has already been discontinued by Van Cleef & Arpels.

The performance of Ambre Imperial is good, though the notes lack strong voices. The sillage is reasonable in the first few hours, as can be expected from a generic amber perfume. The longevity on my skin is about 4-6 hours.

Ambre Imperial is very nice amber perfume that can work as an entry level amber fragrance. Unfortunately, it gets just a participation trophy, as it does not dare to cross into the territory of greatness. It plays in the same ballpark as Chopard Amber Malaki, though it is a bit sweeter. I would recommend this to someone looking for a daily-wear amber if you can get 45 ml for about $40.

Cuddly-sweet amber scent
Van Cleef & Arpels is a French jewellery and watch brand that is really very expensive. Since the 70s they have also established themselves in the perfume business. Some well-known classics such as Tsar, pur Homme or First are well-known to many. Also the unfortunately discontinued Midnight in Paris has a big fanbase. I also love him and fortunately I have secured two bottles for myself. The Collection Extraordinaire can be assigned to the niche, but is already available at affordable designer prices. This range has already grown to 18 fragrances and many great tastes and themes are served.

I have tested a sample of this Ambre Imperial and have tested it several times. In some shops you can get 75ml for about 60 Euro, in many shops you can get it for 130 Euro. The first one is definitely worth it and you should think about doing it here.
Ambre Imperial is, as the name implies, an amber fragrance. The leading role is of course Amber. Throughout the entire process. Too penetrating amber scents aren't my thing. Many fragrances with this note in the leading role are very intrusive, this not. It's a fragrance that's very soft and cuddly. Also the DNA is rather not too penetrating. The amber harmonises perfectly with cuddly soft vanilla and creamy tonka bean. Also a nice pleasant woody spice provides for a balanced creation. This already explains the fragrance, as it is a fragrance that has extremely little progression. It is not always necessary if this is convincing. It does here, in my opinion. Extremely gentle and, despite its sweetness, very suitable for everyday use thanks to its medium sillage and gentle fragrance DNA. An all-rounder that suits many occasions in the cold season. Whether at work, in his spare time, cuddled up on the couch or anything else...it almost always works. It's clearly unisex to me. For men with preference to sweet scents well wearable. Who wants to let the alpha animal out, should not wear this of course. Also ladies would stand this very well.
The performance is mediocre. The shelf life is good with about 8 hours, but the Sillage is mediocre. About very closely already, but he doesn't push himself into the foreground which isn't always a disadvantage. Overall satisfactory.

A great fragrance especially for the approaching autumn. An amber scent with great vanilla tonka sweetness and woody spice. I can recommend it

Cuddle up in a blanket and watch Darth Vader slash his enemies!
Hello and welcome to a new fragrance commentary from me. If you haven't already switched to other comments or things due to my title, in which Darth Vader appears again, that is the all-sided popular top bastard from the Star Wars saga, then you'll read right away that the scent here, Ambre Impérial by Van Cleef & Arpels, is an excellent amber scent. And yes, because of the term "Imperial" I came across Darth Vader, because he belongs to the Empire... :D).

Normally I would introduce such a fragrance more in autumn, since it fits better into autumn and winter because of its fragrance, but first of all I tested the fragrance at a time when it wasn't super hellishly hot and secondly my sample had long evaporated by autumn or something, and that would be a pity, wouldn't it?

So I tried the fragrance recently, and as mentioned before, this fragrance is a very nice one, but unfortunately it smells very feminine as unisex, which means that you ladies once again have an excellent fragrance more to choose from than we guys... yes, really! If I were a woman, I would have much more fragrances in my collection because there are so many great women's fragrances! ... and I would probably be called Don Juanita de Kitty or something... :DD

The fragrance:
The fragrance starts with bergamot and oranges (which are not mentioned here) and then quickly gets sweet scents, which smell like candied fruits at first, which somehow looks delicious. The fruits appear berry, this could possibly come from the pink pepper. The sweetish one then quickly becomes more powdery and "darker" and it soon becomes clear that this comes from the mix of vanilla and especially tonka bean. The amber that gives it its name is still quite rare, but let's see if this changes later.
The fragrance is already soft due to the vanilla and tonka, but the resinous and beautiful benzoin makes it even softer, which is very beautiful.
A little later you actually smell the amber better, so that you can smell the sweetish notes of the amber, vanilla and tonka well, so that the scent, despite the many sweetish scents, neither too intensely sweet nor sticky-sweet sweet and instead just smells good.
Much later, amber and vanilla continue to smell, so the fragrance still smells both sweet and powdery. The slightly fruity, spicy note of pink pepper has then clearly subsided, but in the background it now smells a little bit woody. All in all a beautiful, powdery-sweet fragrance.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The scent is rather mediocre. You should stand close to others so that they can smell the scent to some extent on you. The shelf life is quite good, as it lasts longer than eight hours.

The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and black and has a larger white label with a grey frame on the front. The neck is chrome-plated and has a cord with the diamond-shaped logo of the brand on it. The lid is black and cylindrical. All in all, the bottle with its clear lines looks simple, but also elegant.

So, Ambre Impérial has become a beautiful fragrance that smells of great sweet amber and vanilla notes (and Tonka), but is not overwhelmingly sweet. Its powdery notes make the fragrance particularly soft and pleasant and therefore come across quite nicely.

Although the fragrance is not really heavy, for me it looks more like an autumn and winter fragrance that you could use for many things. It fits discreetly well as a nice, delicate everyday fragrance, especially for ladies, as it is more feminine than unisex. But of course it can also be used for going out. Or cuddle. Or also for leisure time, to cuddle up in a cuddly blanket in autumn, to keep a hangover or cat with you while you drink tea or coffee, to nibble at a biscuit every now and then (which the cat would certainly touch in his curiosity...) and to see on TV how Darth Vader fights his way through the rebel scum :DD

Yes, there are many possible uses, and since the fragrance generally smells very nice, it would be worth a test. Well, then I'm done for today again. Wish all a great evening, until then :)

After peppery spiciness comes vanilla-fruity caramely amber, nice, subdued and quite light. However, the base is indistinct. Pity!
