Cheap laundry accord over decent akigalawood base

There is definitely akigalawood in this fragrance despite its exclusion from the notes listing, explaining its comparisons to Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense. To me it actually opened very similar to Purpose 50 strangely enough, before I could perceive a common feminine "green" accord that makes this one smell, as another reviewer said, like laundry. I was thinking this wasn't horrible for a designer frag, thinking it was available for ~$50-100, but then I looked up the price. For this price point ($330 retail and not found on discounters as far as I could see), this kind of synthetic accord is embarrassing. I'd take any other akigalawood fragrance over this one as far as price is concerned. The only reason I could see for buying this fragrance is the bottle - unfortunately the juice within is designer swill.

Fresh, Fruity-Sweet, Creamy, Elegant, Simple

I recently picked up a bottle of this Eau de Parfum, as my partner loved it on me after I wore a sample a few times.

Sweet citrusy fruity scent that mellows a bit into a long-lasting sweet, creamy fruity scent. To me, the sandalwood mostly presents itself as the creamy element. Compared to other fresh fruity scents, this performs well on my skin.

Other reviews have mentioned some soapiness, but their soaps must be more decadent than mine. However, the scent definitely starts clean, fresh, and a bit citrusy, so I can understand that perspective.

I enjoy this fragrance quite a bit. I find it very joyful and elegantly simple. My partner says the sweet fruity fig and creamy sandalwood give off a lovely ripe mango-esque note.

I love the bottle (specifically the magnetic and weighted cap and the top half of glass) but the bottom half feels a bit cheaper despite having more design.

Figuier Tide Pod

The most unisex of the DvN lot. In the opening it does what it says on the tin. Santal. Greenery. But in the dry-down I get fresh laundry. There’s something a wee bit watery/soapy/cottony about the meat of this fragrance which isn’t unpleasant, just nothing I’d shell hundreds for. If I encountered someone wearing this scent, I’d probably say they smelled well-laundered. It’s like if Tide collab’d with Diptyque and made a “Figuier” detergent.

Longevity: came in at a solid 8h+ on skin and fabric

Mental Snapshot: When you said you liked plants, you meant your hydroponic garden. And when you said you liked the outdoors, you meant surveying from the climate-controlled sanctuary of your penthouse. You love nature, of course. Why else would you own a biodome?

Tl;dr: polite, minimalist Dr. Bronner’s.

A spring morning

Figs to start the day. Still quite green, already sweet when ripe.
The hair is still drying, washed with shampoo for her.
The DNA of this fragrance: green, fresh and sweet.
Feminine tendency, very good longevity. Sillage, however, rather good mid-range.
But the day has only just begun. I go out with dried hair after a fig breakfast. Apparently to a dark corner of Berlin on the subway. Although endowed with clean and green-fresh DNA, this fragrance has a peculiar twist for me.
While I initially thought it was a weird misinterpretation of my nose, at least one other reviewer seems to have had the same effect. And now back to the brief detour to an unappealing subway station in Berlin's city center: out of nowhere, a plume of urine blows into my nose with the fragrance every now and then, especially in the first hour after spraying.
Only rarely, but irritating. According to a brief research, this seems to be due to the sandalwood, but I haven't noticed this in any other sandalwood fragrance so far.
Perhaps the exception, as the fragrance has many fans.
Recommended for fans of green fig shampoo DNA. Hopefully without a trip to the Berlin subway.
