Half-baked futuristic (non) lavender
Not bad per se, but this has nothing to do with lavender. This is a really mellow, smooth, even sort of pleasant blend of anisic-aldehydic musk and vanilla; soapy, sweet, ambery, and with that peculiar sort of "dusty gassiness" provided by aldehydes or something like that. I think I also smell some really light and subtle hint of something rubbery, like a really synthetic imitation leather note. Shortly a "grey" synthetic scent which as other reviewers said, probably would work better as a room spray than on skin. Nothing green, or aromatic, or floral as one may expect. But I get Azzaro's clumsy attempt to connect this to "pure lavender", as it has indeed some "laundry" feel thanks to musk (which also lavender may have, as a minor side nuance). I wouldn't consider this a bad scent though, as it is decent and crisp overall and almost smells like something Comme des Garçons or Andrea Maack could have come up with; it's just completely wrong for that name.

The Calm / Longing
I am restless, worried, sad.
What is wrong with the world, with people…??

Why can't we live somewhat peacefully together on this planet, why is that not possible? Is it (again and again) only about money, power, resources, territories ……?

It is despairing.

The question hangs in the air - WHAT WILL HAPPEN?...

I sit in the garden, deep in thought.

It is far too dry. My flowers are drooping. They too are in mourning.
Every 2 days I have to waste precious drinking water to save them from dying of drought.
Every other day the guilty conscience - should I, should I not…?

WHERE IS THE RAIN ????????????????? Where is the salvation?
FROM EVERYTHING?
WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I flee (for now) into my world of scents.
I know, you out there, you can understand me. It is not the solution, but it is a comfort, an olfactory comforting, calming embrace.
Lavender. Flowers. Wood. Musk. Vanilla. COMFORT.
Recharging my strength.
THE CALM ??

I close my eyes and stand in a lavender field in Provence, brushing the flowers with my palms and a delicate hint lingers. Lavender combined with wild herbs and a touch of clove. Crushed flower petals with an amber feeling. Softly present. Silk.
Other herbs, wildflowers, and some woods mix in, rising up, waiting for vanilla and musk. Peacefully united, they settle on the earth, singing a song together.

The song of peace.

I wish for it so much.

Not just on the skin.

We only have one life.

Southern France as a Fragrance
Pure Lavender was as unusual as its scent brother Pure Cedrat. Here too, the fragrance journey was accompanied by a surprise.

Many lavender scents are often composed with a certain freshness.
Here, the fragrance concept was completely developed in a powdery-oriental direction.

There used to be a lavender body care product from Yves Rocher in a purple jar that smelled almost exactly like Pure Lavender.

The opening of the fragrance had a lavender note, but nothing fresh. The entire scent was spicy-sweet and developed into a more masculine oriental character from the heart note. There was also a similarity to Le Male, but PL was somewhat quieter and, above all, less sweet.

What was really pleasant was the calming effect that this fragrance exuded. And together with the aforementioned body lotion, one felt almost as if in Southern France.

A dream of lavender. A dream of Provence! I can't understand why this scent was discontinued.
