The original but better, with tenacity

In an age of tiresome trend chasing, I appreciate a fragrance that's just great. I wore this a couple weeks ago and, without the original as comparison, it smelled as I remember Acqua di Parma Colonia EDC. Mercifully, it's not an Ambroxan bomb, which most "modernized" fragrances are. Performance was a bit better than the EDC, and for that, it has a reason to exist. Acqua di Parma Colonia Il Profumo is a classic and invigorating soapy scent--and a decently performing freshie--and for that it has a place in my heart.

Anti-Brumm mosquito spray

If you live in Switzerland, it'll remind you of the smell of an awful medicine we all used as children, but I can't point-point which one + mixed with a mosquito repellent spray that you sprayed and that gets into your mouth. The closest guess I have is the anti-brumm spray when entering your mouth...

A very pleasant continuation of Colonia

I used to have Colonia EdC and really enjoyed it. It did have some issues though. The DNA felt a little outdated and fusty in the drydown. The performance was also quite disappointing.

I tried some of the flankers but they never really delivered.

Il Profumo is different. The mustiness or fustiness is completely gone while still keeping that classic zingy citrus opening true to the original. In the mid there is something slightly minty (geranium?) that peeks through and has a cooling effect which is quite pleasant. The drydown has been modernized with florals, vetiver and a smooth airy leather accord. The drydown reminds me of something from Chanel or Guerlain. It has that elegance to it. The trade off is that this feels less barbershopy and more unisex but I don’t mind that.

The performance is also very much improved. A few sprays in the morning lasted an entire workday, although it sat quite close to the skin at that point. Still impressive.

I’m very happy with this purchase and will be rocking this a lot in the coming spring and summer!

Fresh, Spicy, and Refined – A Scent for the Mature Gentleman

This is a fresh juicy sweet citrusy floral scent with a strong spicy-green edge from rosemary, petitgrain, and ylang-ylang.

You can smell the natural notes quality and overall it gives me a fresh, clean, soapy vibe—like stepping out of the shower clean shaved. I would consider this fragrance as a fresh modern juicy chypre, that feels more suited for a mature guy, probably 35 and up.

It is also quite long lasting.

Classic and secretly modern

Perfectly realized, if the goal was to create a classic Italian in such a way that it comes across as modern, without you noticing that modernity was a priority in the release.

Mega opening, citrus at its finest. Petitgrain is boss!
White shirt in summer, unbuttoned to the chest, the sun turns the evening sky orange, the drinks are cold.

Despite the addition of "il Profumo", it unfortunately doesn't last long. But maybe that would have been for the sake of quality. It's worth having a 5ml bottle to hand when you're out and about to freshen up if you need to. It simply smells good.

If you like colognes, this is a great fragrance. Easy buy recommendation!
