Comment No. 1000 - intoxicatingly beautiful bergamot - Italian
Yes, well, my 1000th Parfumo comment should of course not be a criticism, a reckoning, or a dissection. I do that often enough here :) and unfortunately, from my perspective, there is often plenty of reason for it.
But the main reason for the exchange here, where I have now been at home for over 7 years, is of course to enrich oneself, to be inspired, and to focus on the beautiful aspects of sniffing.
Acqua di Parma gives me ample reason to praise with their No. 5. This is truly a perfectly composed, very high-quality, casually Mediterranean arranged summer fragrance. A wealth of citrus aromas, a lot of bergamot, lemon, naturally occurring.
Not sharp or sour, but rather creamy, dolce-vita-like. Gently spicy, juniper and pepper play a subtle rounding background. One thinks with anticipation of the wonderful dolce-far-niente vacations in this magnificent country, which will eventually return when the whole virus misery is swept aside.
Yes, really, big praise for No. 1000! Lemon fans, go for it! :)
