Sweet Yet Sophisticated Saffron
I have been captivated by this scent for the past few days now.
First off, my favourite part of this scent is its ability to sweeten saffron without it immediately making you feel like you are smelling desserts, as a sweet saffron can often be associated with. The amber and patchouli in the base, combined with the citrus notes at the top help avoid that "sickly sweet" effect that some spices associated with baking can often lean into when sweetened. It is an enveloping, warm, and deep saffron, where the moderate sweetness and vanilla create a comforting effect.
Secondly, the staying power of this fragrance is impressive. I am always pleasantly surprised when I can still smell a fragrance on me the next day, and in the case I could still smell it (although mildly by this point) at 36h later. Now, let us not confuse longevity with sillage. By the 24h mark, this fragrance definitely becomes a skin scent. Do not expect anyone but those very close to you to notice anything by 24h. I'd say it displays its full power for around 6h, then slowly progressing to skin scent over the next 18h.
Saffron is one ingredient I have always loved and is very special to me. Whenever I have the chance to smell new fragrances which include it, I always do, and this one has really stood out for me in the best of ways.
