Leather and dark nougat, hmm…
I became aware of In Leather through the promotional leaflet from Rossmann. The mention of leather always catches my attention, and since I had to go to the city anyway, I stopped by Rossmann - not without first checking the rating here on Parfumo for this fragrance. Initially, I wanted to buy both the men's and women's scent, as I don't see the division between men's and women's fragrances as strict. But after realizing that I (actually) have enough leather scents in my collection, I decided to go for the women's fragrance only.
A good choice. In Leather starts with warm, soft leather. Cinnamon cassia gives a slightly cinnamon, woody spice, but this is not the intense cinnamon that we sprinkle over, for example, apple pancakes. At the same time, a creamy gourmand note emerges; I think of a nut cream cake or dark nougat. I have no idea where it comes from, but it blends exquisitely with the leather note. And so, In Leather lingers quite a long time, changing little. I can't detect anything floral, although according to the listed notes, some flowers are supposed to be present. Only a delicate resinous amber with vanilla comes in very subtly towards the end, but the base note remains soft leather with nougat; the scent is linear, offers no surprises, which might be too boring for some, but not for me. And despite the gourmand note, In Leather does not become sticky sweet; the nougat note leans more towards bitter dark chocolate.
The sillage is average, not overwhelming, and the longevity is about 6 hours. The glass bottle is simple and looks high-quality, but it is a bit tricky to handle; refilling is not so easy unless you have hands like frying pan lids. And now I’m almost a little annoyed that I didn’t take the men’s scent as well. Hmm, will I make it to the city this week? Not really, but….
