my opinion
Aigner Pour Homme Blue Emotion is an exquisite blend that perfectly balances freshness and warmth. It opens with a burst of invigorating citrus from mandarin orange, bergamot, and lemon, softened by the aromatic touch of lavender and the green nuances of violet leaf. This combination provides a refreshing and uplifting start that instantly captivates.

As the fragrance settles, the heart reveals a warm and spicy composition of coriander, cardamom, and jasmine. This middle phase adds depth and complexity to the scent, creating a rich and sophisticated character. The spices are well-blended, providing a subtle but noticeable warmth that is both inviting and elegant.

The base notes anchor the fragrance with a soft spicy finish that lingers beautifully on the skin. The overall impression is one of understated elegance and refined masculinity. This fragrance is versatile enough for both daytime and evening wear, making it an excellent addition to any man's collection

Smurf Blue or Hidden Gem?
Is Aigner's pour Homme Blue Emotion a mass-market fragrance in blue or rather a hidden gem? The truth lies - as always - somewhere in between. At first, I thought only "Smurf blue?!" - how the scent came to be in its glass bottle. However, I'll spare you the song of the Smurfs and a fictional dialogue between Hefty Smurf, Smurfette, and Beauty Smurf. Then I tried it: "It tastes delicious!" - Just kidding: Bergamot is quite irresistible to me, and in combination with lavender, violet, and citrus fruits ... what an opening.

After a short while, it gently transitions to the heart note, which pleasantly but not too overpoweringly smells of jasmine and spices. In the description, I also read about ozone as an aroma. That's funny; ozone is actually toxic, but it causes harm when it is lacking in the upper atmospheric layers. Back when I was a child, you could smell this gas after heavy thunderstorms, and everyone thought it was healthy. Today, ozone levels are a real hot topic, but that's just a side note.

Now, the base makes its presence known with vetiver, framed by woods. However, the longevity is limited, and after a few hours, the magic has faded away.
Apparently, not many people own it, and since it is no longer produced but occasionally still offered for sale, it represents an exclusive bargain for me.

Bottle: Transparent; this is bad for the perfume, so it is advisable to keep it in the dark. The silver plastic cap is not really attractive. Otherwise, the bottle feels good in the hand.

Scent: Everything is very well balanced - almost perfect. Craftsmanship is top-notch. I miss a little bit of the spirit, but we are in the mid-range with Blue Emotion, and for that, it offers more than enough.

The olfactory concept of this EdT has (and was) also picked up by others, such as the "Davidoff Champion Energie," which was released 10 years later and smells very similar over wide stretches, where the method "intense is not intense enough" takes center stage.

So, anyone who decides on this composition of bergamot, lavender, violet, spices, ozone, woods, and vetiver is well advised. I would recommend it to both older and younger men. It is suitable for any occasion. Those who value sillage should reapply after 6 to 7 hours.

The True "Splash"
Etienne Aigner pour Homme Blue Emotion - the absolute freshness kick.

When I tested this fragrance, one thing went through my mind. This is how I imagined "Splash".

The opening of the top note is very citrusy-fresh, but this feeling fades quickly. Then the slightly bitter spicy heart note comes through, which is not intrusive. In the end, it becomes beautifully woody, enhanced by the vetiver. Sillage and longevity are in the average range, but I didn't expect more.

About the bottle: Unfortunately, like every Aigner, totally boring. Nothing special, bluish-transparent.

About the scent: Really good for the price, almost a hidden gem. Balanced, not too intrusive, fresh, bitter, and woody at the same time. The ultimate freshness kick after showering. Simply Splashy!

Target audience: Here, "everyone" can feel addressed.

Occasion: Leisure, sports, work. I wouldn't use it for going out; it would get lost there.

Aquatic Cheapie with a Touch of Depth
Aigner Pour Homme Blue Emotion is a fragrance that hit the market in the early 2000s. Then it was temporarily discontinued, but now it’s back. And that’s a good thing. The scent was a birthday gift, and I was really pleased to receive it, as I had wanted to test and/or buy it for quite some time. Now I can say: for little money, you really get a fresh aquatic with a slightly woody, grounded base that adds some depth.

Bergamot, mandarin, and lemon create a fresh opening paired with a hint of authentic, herbal lavender. Quite quickly, green and aquatic notes join in: (ozone?), violet, vetiver. Due to the woods and spices that follow in the drydown, it has a more masculine note, simply a bit more mature.

The fragrance sits quite well on my skin; I get about 4 hours of wear. Others perceive it for the first 2 hours, and the projection is moderate. For such an inexpensive fragrance, it has decent performance and scent quality. A nice all-rounder for warm days and sporty activities. Definitely keep an eye out for it when it’s on sale!

Fragrant Aquatic with Aromatic Accompaniment
If the Etienne Aigner Pour Homme Blue Emotion had not remained a little secret tip.
Perhaps it would still be produced today due to increased sales.
But in 2002, the Internet was not nearly as present as it is today, and parfumo.de was not yet launched.

Maybe there was also no significant space for the blue-hued fragrance composition among the already existing aquatics at that time!?

Initially, it offers a refreshing shower that makes you feel full of energy.
Additionally, there is a fruity subtle mix of juicy bergamot, sour lemon, and sweet mandarin.
These cleverly blend with a fine scent of violet and lavender.
At its heart lies an aromatic mixture of jasmine, cardamom, coriander, and cumin.
In the base, earthy vetiver, a hint of musk, and light woods radiate their aura.
This is accompanied throughout by a pleasant hint of endless Mediterranean freshness.

Bottle: typical Aigner -- handy & sturdy -- with a cheap-looking silver plastic handle

Longevity: decent in the designer category -- 4-7h -- occasional refreshing desired

Sillage: also respectable in this price segment -- 2-4h -- then close to the body

Conclusion: Fresh-looking aquatic with a slightly fruity accompaniment, spicy aroma, and a fine woody finish.
Nothing extraordinary, but quite pleasing.
A go-to for the right temperatures.
Price-performance ratio truly commendable.
Fragrance is discontinued -- however, occasionally available

A lovely scent, fresh and aquatic. But very generic, nothing special. You can grab it if it's on sale for 10 euros.

Aquatic, lightly spicy, and reasonably priced - smells decent and a bit like a sensible marriage.

A lot of citrus, the sour leans into the sharp. Almost too much.
Plus a solid note of wood and some undefinable herbs.

Got a 50ml bottle for 11.99 euros at Rossmann. Typical 00s office aquatic. Slightly peppery, ozonic, woody. Rochas Aquaman says hello…

Fine, fresh wood-citrus scent in the brand's typical suit-like elegance. Very nice notes, but I’d prefer it to be bolder.
