Ein Duft, der mich zurückträgt:
Silvester 2000, ich 13 Jahre alt,
eine fremde Party & dieser Duft in der Luft. Eine Freundin hat wohl diesen Duft getragen. Das stelle ich jetzt nach 25Jahren fest.

Ich kaufte diesen Duft, weil er in Rossmann im Angebot war.

Zu Beginn fast zu aufdringlich:
Mandarine, Galbanum, Estragon –
grün, laut, scharf und quietschig. Ich denke: „Nein, das bin ich nicht.“

Aber dann…wird er von Stunde zu Stunde besser. Romantisch, verspielt, blumig, sehr weiblich, bezaubernd.

Der Dry Down ist der Beste. Ich kann garnicht aufhören an mir zu schnuppern. Er hat was tiefes, warmes, erdiges, süß animalisches, erotisches..Hilfe!

Keiner spricht über diesen Duft.
Deshalb liebe ich ihn.

Nicht trendy. Sondern tief.
Mich würde es freuen, wenn ich die Einzige bin, die diesen Duft mag
Auf meinen Klamotten nicht so schön, wie auf meiner Haut
Und er hält 5Stunden ohne Problem, wenn nicht länger

Spiced Chypre with "Automatic Rewind"

This candidate from the early 90s has probably been "cut off" because it contains fragrance materials that simply belong in a good quality perfume, have always belonged there, and should normally always belong there, but are an eyesore for the IFRA, because someone might have gotten a pimple from them. One out of a thousand satisfied perfume users. (If that were the case, at least half of all cosmetics would have to be banned). JASMINE???? HYACINTH??? Above all, OAKMOSS!!!! are therefore the "most toxic killer substances" that make a perfume "dangerous." All gone, replaced by synthetic substances, or reduced to such an extent that it approaches homeopathic doses. As a result, scents either fall by the wayside, are reformulated, or taken off the program. I am glad that "Private Number" by Etienne Aigner is at least temporarily still available at Rossmann (likely from unreformulated stocks before production was halted). This scent is a very spicy Chypre that already carries quite dry-warm herbs in its aura. The Mediterranean tarragon, in conjunction with galbanum and green hyacinth, gives Private Number a strong start to create tension for "more." Mandarin and peach take the edge off the spices without making them tired. A large bouquet of garden carnations greets you after a while. The premium fragrance variety. Unsweetened, demonstrative, uncompromising, wonderful. A bit of jasmine "pants" after the carnations, carrying a tiny powder box of iris. The rose has a fragrant special position and primarily supports the carnations in their spicy effect without dominating. I hardly perceive honey now; the lily of the valley chimes a fine green melody, staying in the background, but something would be missing without them. Woody cedar makes its entrance and shows the flowers the forest where moss also grows. Subtle, yet distinct, because there's still plenty of that stuff in there. Vanilla and tonka remain more in the background for me; the moss, vetiver, and wood aspect prevail without reminding me of sawdust or anything similar. The scent Private Number by Aigner reminds me with its fragrance fullness of the melodies of an old orchestrion that you still find at some fairs. A huge instrument, with this automatic rewind that plays new melodies continuously, powerful, melodic, sometimes "antique," when figures "set the tone," which make you (at least that's the case for me) shudder with deep pleasure. Dear IFRA!!! Don't take away the last veterans among the fragrances, or let them fade into obscurity. Give us our "orchestrions" back!!!!!

Private Number. A number of its own.

Thank you Hasi for this wonderful scent memory. So where to begin? Private Number moved in around 1992 or 1993, as a result of a perfume shopping spree. However, I can’t remember where I bought it. Those were turbulent times, the whole world was in upheaval and communism was going down the drain. The time of round tables and we East Germans mutated into Germans with a migration background = German. Well!
The scent progression of Private Number, however, is not so dramatic, even though there are many "ingredients" in the top of the pyramid, I recommend Private Number (maybe you can still find it somewhere on the www) to anyone who says: Yep, I want to try a fully packed classic that doesn’t put my environment into a coma. Here it is!
The opening features tarragon (how does tarragon smell? I have it in the herb garden) slightly sharp and piquant, spicy. Then comes velvety round peach. Spices finely woven together. I can only say again, dare to try it. All of this is spectacular but not overwhelming!
Normally, I don’t like honey or lily of the valley in fragrances, but here both are so well integrated that they create a rounded note and don’t overpower the other notes in the heart.
Well, the base. I had to figure out what this little friend was. What are you? An oriental? No! No, a substantial and crisp chypre! Because the cedar note only reveals itself at the very end.
A little tip on how to smell cedar. A hint of pine needles floats along with it. Oak moss, smells damp, green, woody.
All in all, an exciting scent, well made, well thought out, that doesn’t hit anyone over the head with its qualities.

Recently, my best friend picked me up from home late at night. We wanted to wander around the city a bit and hit up this or that club. Going out with him is a special joy for me because he is not only my friend but also an absolute womanizer. I admit that I enjoy the admiring glances from the ladies when we are out together.
