Sought - Found
Also a new acquisition from this week. A few fragrances that I have wanted for a long time ended up in my shopping cart. This one has really been a regular on my wish list. The fact that it is said to be very similar to Sun Men by Jil Sander really appealed to me. I had been looking for an alternative to this beautiful scent for a while. Especially since I hold Annayake in high regard. Annayake from Japan has the reputation of producing almost exclusively fragrances with a unisex touch. I can only confirm this from the tested fragrances. The men’s scents all have a gentle touch. I own Tomo and I really like it a lot.

I found it for just under 50 euros for 100ml. It's not so easy to find and not available in every shop. It’s quite possible that it has been discontinued. It was not a true bestseller anyway, unlike most Annayake fragrances.
The bottle looks quite elegant and serious. Fits the scent. It is rather simple, but it suits this Japanese fragrance brand.
One thing upfront: I was looking for an alternative to Sun Men, and I found it with this fragrance. Sun Men is a feel-good summer scent that is quite common. Nevertheless, I love this scent DNA. There is definitely a similarity to this fragrance. However, Annayake has its own unique note in this scent. A subtle and gentle spice is also noticeable here. It starts off very fresh and fruity. Especially a lovely blood orange paired with citrus. It comes across as uncomplicated like Sun Men. However, it is a bit more elegant and definitely suitable for the evening. Some spices follow, like beautiful cardamom. This spice blend is very gentle and subtle in the background. It retains its fruity freshness throughout. It is sweetened by tonka bean and vanilla, which is not too sticky or overpowering. Everything is designed very stylishly. Woods and musk round off the composition well. For me, there are no disruptive factors that could annoy me here. I found what I was looking for.
For me, it’s a year-round fragrance. Only in the deepest winter would it fade away. Also very versatile in terms of occasions. Since it doesn’t have the best performance, it’s not suitable for clubs, but the scent itself is less of a club and going-out fragrance. As a relaxed evening scent, it’s really a great choice.
The performance is not the best, as some have already written here. I don’t find it as bad as some describe it. It doesn’t come close to Sun Men’s performance, but it is definitely not bad. The longevity is quite good with several hours.

I’m glad I bought it.

Compulsively Nice
"Excuse me for interrupting, may I press the sprayer?" one would like to ask this introverted little neat freak. It seems we are dealing with the EdT version of etiquette rules. Miyabi wants to do nothing wrong, speaks softly, and has manners that are impeccable. You can't even really be angry with him, even though there are probably more than 456 fragrances that smell just as good. The usual freshly washed citrus-floral-wood number, really.

Actually, I quite like citrus scents, and they are certainly present here, but it's painfully timid and submissive. Let's close the bottle again before the little one catches a cold. Good night and sleep well, you will surely become a model son-in-law one day.

Sun Men for the Evening...or the Perfect Date??
This was my first thought when I smelled this fragrance for the first time.

It was good on my wrist, then I simply didn’t pay much attention to it, as I already knew this scent from Sun Men. But what suddenly unfolded in my thoughts??

It was a late summer evening when I was driving towards the sunset in my car, and the ventilation system blew the scent from my wrist back into my nose again and again. And I couldn’t get enough of this elegance!! It became increasingly pleasant, remaining woody and warm with that little subtle freshness that made me dream. The dream played out in the form of a date...
It is exactly this simplicity that captivated me here, this simplicity, and the point where I can only say that there is not a single fragrance that is exactly like this one. It doesn’t push itself to the forefront, and that is a good thing.

I prefer to wear it in the evening in summer or on a date. The scent lingers in the lady’s nose and creates a pleasant, non-intrusive situation. And which woman likes intrusive men?? ;-)
The woody note always emphasizes masculinity and makes this fragrance unforgettable and pure, like the perfect date.

The price is 79 euros for 100ml, but it is justified!!
The longevity of this fragrance is 6-8 hours, during which it is well perceived.

Unfortunately, it is only available from the Turquoise... well, I’ll gladly order it :-D

Subtle or Insignificant?
A sample of "Miyabi Man" has surely made its way into almost every German shopping bag through Douglas. However, I feel that the fragrance has never really made a strong impression or taken off. I had never seriously tested it before, as it seemed too generic to me. Unremarkable describes it quite well. Now it finally had its chance - and it remains unremarkable. Even on the skin and in everyday life. However, it's the good kind of "unremarkable"...

"Miyabi Man" is never even the slightest bit unpleasant. Leaning towards the creamy direction of "Sun Men" or "Armani Code," it is a milky-spicy all-rounder, although it admittedly lacks a bit of kick, uniqueness, and character. It is always calm. It doesn't push boundaries. It weaves through without being calculated. It gets by. A bit of musk, a bit of nutmeg, but it never really has any flair. Very soft and pleasing. Does a man want that? Does a woman want that? Does anyone just want that? Is that enough? Not quite for me... I can't be too harsh on it, though. It's just too... nice. And for me personally, especially in the human realm, I don't see "nice" as bad or "the little sister of crap" at all. I believe many (powerful) people would like to be a lot "nicer" and not see it as a weakness...

Bottle: Asian, simple, beautiful
Sillage: weak and lackluster
Longevity: 5 hours - rather on the lower end...

Conclusion: basically a well-wearable, never too sweet-synthetic, and quite "nice" everyday fragrance... but I believe I don't need to tell anyone what "niceness" is often (unfortunately) perceived as! The anise shines through the most and gives off a slightly menthol vibe.

Very nice, but also very shy
I googled what Miyabi actually means and, as far as I understand, it is a Japanese concept/ideal that embodies elegance, politeness, and the rejection of anything raw, disharmonious, and harsh.

This describes the perfume quite well.
Unfortunately, this describes the perfume quite well.

Miyabi Man is a very pleasant, unobtrusive, reserved fragrance; TVC15 described it quite well: We don’t want to be a burden, we don’t want to be loud, we stay in the background. Citrus? Yes, at first, then it quickly fades away before it becomes bothersome, and here come the soft, gentle notes. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it is indeed quite unobtrusive. There are many perfumes that go in a similar direction but still manage to add a bit more punch (Dior Homme is not on the right side of the list for nothing!).

Not bad, really not, but just so very shy.

Very nice fresh scent with a pleasant sweetness. It’s quite similar to Sun Men. If you like that, you’ll like this too. Versatile use.

Citrusy scent with an Annayake character. Its strength lies in the dry-down.
However, it smells a bit shy and reserved.

Nice, but a bit too flat and too pleasantly fresh-sweet for me. I probably would have liked it in my early 20s.

Forgotten faster than it was sprayed on. A nice mix of citrus notes, a hint of violet leaf, and clean musk in a dull gentlemanly style.

I can only partially relate to Sun Men, more to the Sun Men Parfum and its powdery note. Also, a hint of D&G The One.

Beautiful fresh scent, spicy with a harmoniously fine sweetness that seduces in an unconventional way.

Citrusy, evolving into a sweet, citrusy, sandalwood, spicy base. Quite nice if you just want to smell good.

"Sun Men (Eau de Toilette)" from Japan, subtle, understated, but there when you need it! Like Mr. Miyagi in Karate Kid... Miyabi-Miyagi? ;)

I particularly love the fresh floral scent in the heart note, probably a mix of orange, clove & vanilla. But it fades away too quickly.
