nice but fleeting
This is a very pleasant camphorous clove scent. Although it contains cloves, there is no camphor listed. But it reminds me of Etro Relent (which has a prominent eucalyptus note) and of Penhaligon's Elixir (which features eucalyptus and warm spices). I like the warm-cool polarity here, with the warmth and coolness hitting at the same time. I like this type of scent for days when I'll be working at my desk, as I think the complex and quirky composition helps me concentrate. Of the three, Tsukimi is the one I'd be least likely to buy, though, because of its horrible lasting power. There's just no point wearing a scent that lasts an hour, unfortunately.

Autumn Afternoon in the Home with Tsukimi - There's Something Comforting About It
The common room in the home is getting emptier. Some time ago, there were still 8 to 10 people sitting there; now it’s usually only 5. Many don’t even leave their beds anymore, and the few who are there mostly sit alone at a table. My father has a regular spot at a two-person table, together with Hubert. He has ALS, can hardly move, and struggles to swallow or speak; often I feed him while chatting with my father beside him. Recently, Hubert turned 60, and my father gave him half of his piece of cake, and I sang him Happy Birthday, crooked and off-key, as the caregiver asked me to. I hate singing; anyone who hears me knows why, but Hubert was happy, and that made it worth it. At the table next to my father sits Mrs. N.; her husband is also in the home, and they have separate rooms because he no longer recognizes her. She always parks her walker behind my father, making it difficult for me to push him out in his wheelchair. There’s enough space, but she wants it to be exactly like that, period. Otherwise, she becomes unpleasant. The small, demented, toothless Mrs. U. hardly comes into the common room anymore; her husband visits her every day, his mouth corners getting longer and his steps more shuffling. He is sad when his wife doesn’t recognize him and angry when she flirts with Mr. Pluto or the caregiver; he likes that even less, which is perhaps why he rarely comes with her anymore. Jealousy at almost 90, feelings last a lifetime. The nurse comes in and asks who wants coffee and notices: It smells like Advent tea here. As she pours coffee for my father, she sniffs. Oh, you smell so good; it’s so cozy and spicy, what is that?

Before visiting the home, I apply fragrances more generously and prefer the comforting and softer scents. Tsukimi has been accompanying me for the second autumn now, thanks to Palonera's comment. The fragrance starts off very softly citrusy, quickly joined by a peppery clove and a pinch of cumin that gives it a piquant note. Plum and cinnamon are easily recognizable. The scent is balsamic and spicy, has a pleasant smokiness and something sacred about it. If Tsukimi were a color, it would be reddish-brown. Vanilla and sandalwood round it off, making Tsukimi soft and warm, without sticky sweetness. A restrained, fruity-woody oriental, with considerable longevity; the sillage is medium - or strong, depending on the sprayer :o) And I think, one more spray suits it well. Although listed as a women's fragrance, I can easily imagine Tsukimi on a man. The bottle is easy to handle; it doesn’t quite match my taste, but it doesn’t look cheap.

And indeed, while I’m sniffing myself, Tsukimi also has something of Advent tea; the nurse is right.

of Already Gone and Still to Come
I know it well, I know - we are in spring.
At least according to the calendar and the meteorologists.
We are in spring after a winter that wasn’t really a winter - it was warm and wet and only rarely white, here and there and everywhere.
And the spring that is supposed to be here doesn’t feel like spring, not really, not yet.
It is wet and gray and cold and even white for some moments.
It doesn’t make me rejoice, celebrate, throw off my heavy clothes and wear colorful flags that flutter in the gentle wind and shimmer in the early spring sunlight.
Not yet, no.
My skin and soul still long for warmth, for cuddly softness and something to hold me tight, for powerful-gentle sweetness and wood and resin and smoke.
For autumn, at least in the bottle.
So then for "Tsukimi"?

"Tsukimi" tells us of autumn in Japan, a country I have never been to.
I know images of Japan, know people from this distant land who are quiet and polite, reserved and subtly turned away from all that is loud and garish.
They wear simple clothing, gentle fragrances, they do not impose in any way, even though they have been living with us year after year and our today was also their yesterday.
I thought: "Would they wear 'Tsukimi' as a fragrance in a foreign land like at home?"

"Tsukimi" envelops me in a fine mist of gentle spice and dry-dark wood, stitching delicate patterns of cloves, blossoms, branches onto light coarse linen, the thread cinnamon-brown.
I smell plums, still small and firm on trees, from whose foliage a cool rain drips, and I think again and again, always again of Serge Lutens' "Féminité du Bois."
Related in spirit, "Tsukimi" feels softer, a little shallower and not sweet and heavy at all.
A hint of autumn, surely, and also of nostalgia, of Already Gone and Still to Come.
Days are already fading, light and warmth are already dwindling, mist is already clinging bright cool-gray to the skin.
Still here and there, resin seeps from some bark, luring candlelight into some warm house.
A hint of gold, a dark shine, very close to me, a languid dance.
I see before me Naoko's dark eyes, her quiet smile, her motherly warmth - and I know she would also wear "Tsukimi" if she were still with us today.

Chaste Relative of the Devil and the Naive Exotic
On a tree, there hangs a plum - yes, a beautiful, spicy, aromatic one. Not a watery supermarket plum, but a sun-ripened one from the garden. And now it is enclosed in the beautiful, impractical, because towering bottle, which always wants to reserve a spot for itself in the dresser.
Plum, and not as overcooked, cloyingly sweet compote with a deterring consistency. This little fruit has been carefully treated and ennobled.
It is preceded by a tempting tart fruitiness, pepper has been used very sparingly, and soon the main character of the fragrance comes to light: plum with cinnamon and clove, as a delightful dessert. Everything feels soft and gentle - and by no means over-seasoned. Warm, like an early autumn day, when you can still enjoy the sun. Perhaps comparable to the first autumn mists. Woody and vanillic notes emerge, a slightly dry powderiness develops.
Tsukimi has, by the way, distant relatives. If one imagines a fragrance equator, then "Habanita" as a fragrance hammer lies exactly on this line, right next to the naive-exotic Balahe. And Tsukimi is found quite a bit further north - as the chaste relative of the race women. It has similar ingredients,
but not this explosiveness.
The wearers do not have to be the same, but for lovers of the two other, more complex fragrances, Tsukimi could very well be a gentler oriental with
elegant persistence, making it an option for warmer days. And age rating: 18-88, depending on personal preferences.
Tsukimi proves that fruitiness in modernly conceived fragrances does not have to burst with sweetness and interchangeable squeakiness. And that an individual perfume is also possible in the mainstream sector.

A Treat for the Senses....
In search of a nice gift for a friend, I came across Tsukimi.
A very beautiful oriental fragrance for women..
..without carrying the sweetness and opulent powderiness that most of this type unfortunately exaggerate.
The scent progression has already been aptly described here.. I would like to add a subtly floral note to it.

Although the longevity is very good, it doesn't go all out with the sillage.

Restraint is its strength...
This perfume wants to be experienced up close, and it knows how to present itself well.
Every man knows the tingling feeling of being very close to a woman and inhaling her natural scent.
But when a seductive perfume joins this intimate moment.. it becomes all the more exciting :-)
Tsukimi is of this type of perfume.
It is pleasant and seductive.. a scent that one does not tire of...

A harmonious oriental fragrance that smells very pleasant. Spicy, warm, amber-like. Despite vanilla and cinnamon, it doesn't smell edible. Also for men.

Perfect for the Advent season! Great for daytime, as it's rather subtle. Spicy, warm but not overpowering.

Fruity-spicy warm floral notes (quite nice), underlined by a car air freshener/candle scent (not so nice). Sillage much better than expected.

What a (cinnamon) gem. Spicy cinnamon fruits and sandalwood, subtly floral-vanilla. Patchouli adds the right touch. Delicious!

Ah, it's so beautiful! Warm cinnamon scent with a hint of vanilla, the patchouli doesn’t overwhelm me, but purrs like a kitten! Advent scent.

Delicate Japanese notes in many spicy autumn colors. Cheerfulness meets melancholy, cool wind meets warm earth. Floral powder gently accompanies.

Besides lann Ael, my favorite autumn scent. Beautifully subtle in the sillage. Perfect for wrapping up. Softly spicy, still on my scarf in the evening.

Name is omen. Colorful mixed forest, balsamic with a hint of smoky clove, how much does it cost? This could be dangerous....
