Malik AlMotia Review

A very woody oriental fragrance. A potent fragrance that relies heavily on the beautiful jasmine sambac. Blue lotus also features here along with Thai Oud and sandalwood. These ingredients blend well together to create a great fragrance.

I enjoy wearing it at home mostly. As its piercing qualities might be too much on passers by. But I love it just as much.

A Day of Tranquility

The first rays of sunlight appear on the horizon. The flowers stretch their heads into the warm, brightening light as the sun slowly rises higher over the still dreamy landscape of Indonesia.

The birds' chirping now awakens the last plants and animals from their dreams. The lotus-blue lakes reflect the sunlight and radiate their deep tranquility. The mirror-smooth surface is only interrupted by the blossoms and leaves of the Blue Lotus.

Thus, the sun makes its way over the ancient forests, where the treetops provide shade at their zenith. There it stands now in all its glory, warming and watching over the earth. It moves on, bathing the landscape in amber-colored light, still warming with its last rays before it fades on the horizon.

Malik Al Motia opens with an incredibly beautiful bright floral note, consisting of jasmine, lotus, and davana. This is further supported by the Motia Attar. A very natural and calm start, to which a little bit of Thai oud is added later, but it remains more in the background.
In the drydown, it becomes beautifully balsamic and amber-like, woody. The flowers gradually quiet down, and the scent lingers for the last hours, reserved and with a warm fragrance aura. The sandalwood adds a touch of creaminess and blends in very well here.

For me, one of the most beautiful and wearable scents from the release. This pleasant tranquility and the subtle sillage fit perfectly with the fragrance notes. Especially the jasmine and the Blue Lotus have captivated me here.

A Unique Piece - Flower Bed in the Rain

One of my favorite fragrances of all time. I have never smelled anything comparable.

Typical for very niche / artisanal fragrances, opinions vary widely. The response to the scent has been either overwhelmingly positive or occasionally negative. One should not expect a pleasing people pleaser that only brings compliments. It is a special fragrance, likely one of a kind, and therefore has no direct comparisons.

To me, Malik al Motia smells like a flower bed with peat soil after the rain. Floral, slightly sweet and deep, spicy-earthy. Just a beautiful scent, both as a perfume and generally as a smell.
The fragrance needs to develop on the skin. One should not make a judgment in the first 5 minutes after spraying.

H/S is above average. I find the bottle very beautiful and the packaging is high quality.

The price is absolutely fair for what you get.
