Yellow to green tea
Lipton Ice Tea sounds pretty unattractive as a scent. And it is. For a while that is exactly what you get here. But fortunately this chilled beverage somehow turns into an actual perfume. By the time that first splash of lemon has dried, Mediterrano starts to make sense. Both aromatic and floral elements join with the lemon-tea. Minty-aromatic at first; in the end more floral. Summery fresh and easy-going, simple as that. Lipton Nice Tea.

This is so wonderfully Mediterranean!
Take a seat, Mr. Jeheimrat!
How is your esteemed health? Is everything well at home? The son and the lovely Mrs. Jemahlte ...?
Well, that makes me happy!
How do you prefer it?
No, no, don’t worry, the old coriander is indeed indestructible, I can assure you of that.

What would you like? As always? Cologne? Shaving cream perhaps?
But of course, but right away ...
Coffee? Cream? Coming right up ...

You see, I can also offer Mr. Jeheimrat a nice piece of Trudchen's gooseberry cake. She just baked it yesterday afternoon! It's completely fresh! Well, the gooseberry cake, not Trudchen. I thought Mr. Jeheimrat wouldn't refuse ...

Very true, I see it the same way. This weather has certainly not been the yellow of the egg for a long time. They promised us climate warming, and then at the end of July it was cool, gray, and it rained for an hour. No, that was not summer at all! But at least the plants in my little garden got enough water. Or maybe too much. But now it really is summer, as it should be for August. Isn’t it wonderful? One must enjoy it! I always tell myself, coriander, I always say, enjoy this hot weather, the old winter will come soon enough, and then you’ll long for sun and warmth and your little swing!

So, just a moment, I need to wrap this towel around you. We don’t want to get anything on that fancy suit.
What do you mean, Mr. Jeheimrat?
Yesss ... you are absolutely right. One doesn’t really know what to wear in this hot weather. Shorts are certainly not appropriate for a gentleman of the world. As a grown man, you don’t want to look like a little boy ... you see, Mr. Jeheimrat, I can only shake my head at grown men who wear shorts while riding a scooter through the neighborhood. Do they not want to grow up or can they not ...? I always tell myself, coriander, I always say, one doesn’t have to follow every fashion, especially not when it’s silly ...

But Mr. Jeheimrat looks magnificent today, if I may compliment you.
Linen and silk? Now that I call elegant. A snazzy jacket, absolutely! And then that white shirt and the fine linen trousers ... A Panama hat is also quite charming!
So, if Mr. Jeheimrat could please turn his nose to the other side ... then I can work better with the shaving brush ...

Where was I?
Oh right, snazzy jacket, Panama hat, and so on.
Mr. Jeheimrat surely suspects that I will take this opportunity to ride my little hobby horse.
Right - a gentleman also needs a proper haircut and a suitable fragrance.
How do you prefer it?
Right, it’s not so easy in this weather. It should definitely be fresh, but also suitable for the bright blue sky. Refreshing, but not intrusive. Therefore, a gentleman should prefer a fragrance that is a bit quieter. It’s not appropriate to disturb your surroundings with an intrusive perfume in such heat.

What do you mean ...?
But yes, but yes! Mr. Jeheimrat knows me ...
This time I have found something quite extraordinary.
I was surprised myself!
Often it is the case that a really good fragrance is quite expensive. It hits the office, and Trudchen rolls her eyes again ...
But I always tell myself, coriander, I always say, you only live once!

How do you prefer it, Mr. Jeheimrat?
But exactly, you are completely right! I absolutely agree with you!
You see, when a gentleman of the world wants to wear a fragrance during the hottest time of the year that is pleasant and elegant, it is unavoidable to put a bit more money on the table. It shouldn’t smell cheap! Am I wrong ...?
I’m glad that Mr. Jeheimrat sees it the same way.

Now, it is the case that a fresh summer fragrance should start with a cool citrus note. This is classic, and a gentleman should indeed wear something classic on that fancy suit.
But of course! What I want to present to Mr. Jeheimrat today is from the very beginning a wonderful, natural, and slightly sour lemon, really beautiful and very long-lasting! It also has a delicious refreshing touch of wild mint, which makes the whole thing quite pompous. Then they stirred in a little eucalyptus, as I have been informed by unusually well-informed circles. At first, it doesn’t stand out much, but it makes the freshness and coolness really pretentious, I assure you!
If someone has a particularly fine nose, they might also detect some fruity notes, I’ve been told. It should be a bit subtle. But that’s not so important to me, as I freely admit.
How do you prefer it?

Yesss, that’s great! Especially since the old mint is accompanied by a hint of thyme. Overall, it’s already a really fresh and delightfully cool thing with a dominant sour lemon.
I like it, it’s elegant, it’s fresh, and just right for this weather.

So, if Mr. Jeheimrat could please turn that noble character head a bit to the other side ... then I can work better with the scissors on the sideburns ...

Where was I?
Oh right, fresh and cool.
You see, alongside this, there’s also something extraordinarily fine. The freshness is quite delicately complemented by a bit of green tea, which joins in as if it were meant to be.
I can guarantee Mr. Jeheimrat that this same mixture is the best for the hottest days of the year! Icy cold tea with lots of mint and sour lemon, it’s as if you’re floating! Like a sip of ice-cold water, only much nicer!
How do you prefer ...?

Yesss, that stays as is, nothing will change. That’s the beauty of it. One doesn’t want a fragrance in this sweltering heat that changes its character all day long. It should be fresh, it should be cool, and it should stay that way! And what should I whisper to Mr. Jeheimrat ... So it stays!
Very durable, this noble fragrance. It makes a statement, a gentleman can also present himself in this heat.
And then this brew is also named after how it smells!
“Mediterraneo” is what they called it, and it’s put together by a company called Carthusja. Fantastic, I must say!

What do you mean ...?
Yes, but of course! I have thoroughly tested this fragrance, by the way, much to Trudchen’s delight. I can only confirm that this stuff really lasts a long time even in the dog days. You get to enjoy it almost all day! Trudchen was impressed ... she said I should always splash myself with this fragrance in the summer from now on, she said.

How do you prefer ...?
But yes, but yes, Mr. Jeheimrat. Would I present you with a fragrance that I don’t have in stock ...?
Would you like ...?
Naaa ...?
Another spritz on the other wrist ...?
You see ... I thought so. Quite right, this is a fragrance made for this weather.
But of course, Mr. Jeheimrat! I’m always so happy when my little recommendations are so well received ...

Most heartfelt thanks, Mr. Jeheimrat!
Do come back soon!
And greetings to the lovely Mrs. Jemahlte!

Breakfast in the Garden
For those who are not fortunate enough to own a garden, it is hard to fall into spring feelings under the current conditions. The vacation has also fallen through, and so one is inevitably dreaming from the sofa of green trees, sea air, and warmer days.
That is why I would like to dedicate my comment today to a fragrance that, despite everything, has a knack for bringing freshness and good cheer into the home.
With "Mediterraneo," Carthusia delivers an extrait that awakens us on a mild early summer morning with a generous splash of lemon from our beauty sleep. This is something one is not used to as a wearer of dark incense fragrances, and so the boldness of the sour fruit is initially surprising. But after just a few seconds, a seamless transition begins to the heart of the fragrance, where the mandarin slowly creeps in and adds warmth to the citrus note, making it rounder and fruitier. At no point does the impression of "cleaning product lemon" arise, which I so fear in citrus perfumes.
After this bright start to the day, we are led into the garden. It is just warm enough not to freeze in a bathrobe, the grass is still a bit damp, and the plants and flowers are eagerly stretching towards the rising sun. Under a blooming apple tree, a table is set: breakfast is served!
I reach for a mandarin and begin to peel it. Immediately, its juicy, almost creamy scent, tinged with a hint of green, fills the air and awakens anticipation for summer. I cautiously sip the tea, which invitingly and steamingly awaits to warm my still cool hands. My gaze wanders through the garden and lingers on the jasmine: its flowers, not yet fully opened, will smell wonderful, but they still conceal their magic from the world.

Perhaps that is the reason why no one has wanted to comment on "Mediterraneo" yet, even though it is so readily available: it is simply constructed. Mandarin and green tea share the leading role after the lemon opening, while the remaining ingredients can only serve as supporting actors. Jasmine emphasizes the green nuances of the mandarin but does not manage to impart a floral note to the fragrance. Cardamom and thyme sprinkle a subtle spiciness that mostly sinks into the tea, and finally, the musk cuddles in at the edges, like freshly showered.
In short: there may not be as much to write and fantasize about with Mediterraneo as with some other fragrances. Nevertheless, I believe it deserves a comment - for although it does not reinvent the wheel, it is a wonderful way to start the day.
So, if you are looking for a spring or summer scent that gently but surely reminds you that the "house arrest" will not last forever, grab a sample of Mediterraneo to be transported to a refreshing breakfast in the green garden.

Light tea infusion with a subtle citrus note and floral hints. Discreet, friendly, and without fuss. And that's more than enough here.

Surprisingly bright and light for a perfume, citrusy and juicy at the start, then floral green, slightly powdery (musk): just as good as the EdT.

Tea Tonique without a nutmeg edge. Its absence is noticeable. Otherwise, meaty citrus notes and delicate floral green tea.

Smells like lemon eucalyptus gummy candies from the pharmacy. Very strong aroma. Unfortunately, I don't like it at all.

Quite a candy-like lemon with delicate hints of light green on musk.
Rather unspectacular and consistent.
