I’m surprised?

I don’t know why I’m surprised to be honest. Mancera/Montale are really becoming one of my favourite brands when it comes to value for money. This is a very nice summertime scent. I have all the famous ones like Nio or Neroli Portofino which are far more expensive. This suits me just fine and has very good performance.

Fruity flower Max out

Sicily is very fruity very floral very fresh in a quite intense way. Opening is like a citrusy soda, bubbly fresh and sweet. A bit tart over all. The dry down is more floral than fruity in my experience. It’s a fruity floral note that may not for everyone I would say, I am developing more liking into it since my partner is not a fan. Overall it’s a good spring summer time causal daytime fragrance. Still worth the money, but try it first.

Fruit salad with florals and musky woods

If there was ever a dupe for Pacific Chill, this might be the one (at least for the opening of the fragrance). Sicily starts out as a fruit salad. The more prominent fruits here are the grapefruit, the apple and the bergamot. Grapefruit and apple are sweet and tart, while bergamot offers a refreshing zing of brightness. As the initial fruits start to wane, peaches end up staying a little longer. Sweet, fresh and fuzzy! The middle notes reminded me a lot of Marbella: I get the fresh rose paired with peaches and a hint of jasmine. I barely get any yellow or purple flowers. When the bottom starts peeking through, it becomes woody and musky.

I did get an undertone of synthetic streak throughout the fragrance, something I think Mancera is known for which is why I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I'd prefer buying Pacific Chill and Marbella (already have it in my collection) seperately than getting this one. Nonetheless, if you don't want to splurge for the pricier fragrances and want a lovely fruity, floral perfume for summer, then this could be a nice choice!

"Beach Boys - Good Vibrations" Der Duft

Mein Weihnachten hätte nicht sommerlicher ausfallen können, denn mein Bruder schenkte mir dieses wundervolle Parfum. Erst dachte ich "oh je, nur ein Zitrusduft", aber das war nur für ca. 15 Sekunden. Danach entfaltet sich eine orange-rote Energie, die sich mit dem wunderbaren Klassiker der Beach Boys "Good Vibrations" beschreiben lässt:

Leicht, spaßig, cool aber irgendwie auch komplex und mysteriös (wie die Harmonien von Brian Wilson). Viele Assoziationen schossen mir durch den Kopf, auch, dass er irgendwie super gut in die 70er Jahre passt, oder eher die Glorifizierung davon. In der Herznote rieche ich bei mir auch immer noch das zitrisch-pfrisigartige und Ylang-Ylang kommt dazu, dass es einfach für mich auch einen Hauch von bougie Hippies und retro Los Angeles Starletts hat, ich kann es einfach nicht anders beschreiben. Am Ende bleibt ein wunderschöner Grundduft, der immer noch eine Wärme und Glück versprüht, die ich bisher in meiner Kollektion vermisst habe.

Der Flakon ist auch richtig schön, auch wenn ich kein Fan von Gold bin, passt es perfekt zum Duft und ich spiele manchmal mit dem magnetischen Verschluss rum.

Nice though. Nice.

And that kids basically is the impression and pervading message you get from this. I would appreciate this if I was in the high heat of the Med, Caribbean, Central and South American heat.

But on a sunny day, in June, in Rickmansworth. It doesn’t ring true. It’s not a bad scent it’s just; too much is too much. I can get away with four sprays anymore is cloying and starts to encroach into your day. I much prefer catching my scent than have it leaning over my shoulder, like Billy-no-mates sat in the back of a car.

It’s like Mancera have two line manifesto:

‘Value for Money and NO CHILL’

Yeah I can’t see myself ever finishing a bottle of this, we don’t get enough hot days. And even if we did after a week you’d want to smell of something else.
