Cedrus de Nuit Chloé 2026

“Cedrus” de Nuit is one of Chloé’s newest fragrances and as always, Mr. Bisch did not come to play. I put Cedrus in quotes because truthfully, this new fragrance does not really resemble Cedrus or the Intense flanker in the slightest. This is more of a standalone fragrance.

de Nuit is a sweet, slightly ambery citrus floral that starts off powerful, but tones down quite a bit throughout its full wear. While the composition is simple, it has a dark and mysterious complexity to from the queen of the night. Believe it or not, queen of the night is a cactus plant native to Mexico and Nicaragua, with its beautiful, flowering parts. Naturally, it has a sweet, vanillic smell to attract certain species. And so paired with additional vanilla and benzoin, you can understand why this scent is so sweet.

As for the performance, again, it starts off pretty intense and almost too loud, but quiets down like the nightfall. Longevity is good, but the projection is only strong for the first hour. This wears a lot stronger on clothes and lingers as it clings to fabrics. I need to check the pricing for this one again to see if it’s worth a full size, but based off the scent alone, this one is definitely worth a try!

A white floral fragrance like any other, I can barely detect any cedar here. To be honest, I can barely detect anything in this perfume, apart from a slight sweetness that I cannot define..
With a name like "Cedrus de Nuit", you would expect something different.
Maybe this is also one of those fragrances that I am simply anosmic to and cannot smell at all. The scent is so weak and barely perceptible to me that I find it difficult to write a review here. I smell a slight sweetness, white florals, nothing more. I am honestly glad I only ordered a small 2ml sample, as this is truly one of the most boring fragrances I have smelled so far. Am I the only one who cannot smell anything at all in this fragrance?

Cedrus de Nuit is a truly wonderful fragrance to me, and I think it absolutely deserves its name. However, it now has only a distant connection to the original Cedrus. What particularly appeals to me here is this beautiful green citrus note, which keeps peeking through alongside the floral heart.

As it develops, Cedrus de Nuit becomes noticeably sweeter. The vanilla enters the picture and the floral side comes more strongly to the fore. But this does not take away from its mysterious character in the slightest.

I cannot possibly judge exactly what a “Queen of the Night” is supposed to smell like. Unfortunately, I have never smelled one.

But when I consider the fragrance as a complete work of art, I think Bisch has captured this moment rather well for me: A seductive, not-too-dark starry night. Elegant, romantic and slightly mysterious, without becoming opulent or loud. Dark blue rather than black, and more Claire de Lune than Moonlight Sonata.

What I particularly like: Compared to many of Mr. Bisch’s other fragrances, I find Cedrus de Nuit surprisingly restrained, almost subtle.

I like it exceptionally well and am curious to see how it develops on my skin over a longer period of time. In any case, my sample will continue to be tested extensively.
