Is the fruit still good?
Yes, it is!
I had set out to find a fruity oud fragrance that smells as natural as possible. Since fruity oud fragrances are currently quite the trend, I had several options to choose from. However, in my opinion, most of them are either extremely sweet, making the oud barely noticeable, or so intense that I get strong barn vibes.
But not the Cerana.
Right from the start, you get a strong mango refined with a sweet, bright lychee. This transitions into a more tart direction through the blackcurrant. At the same time, you immediately notice a naturally smelling oud that accompanies the fruits. You are still far enough away from the barn, but definitely in the countryside. Here, however, it is so well combined that it doesn't become overwhelming. In the drydown, the fragrance develops a woodier, almost smoky character, while the mango remains pleasantly noticeable from start to finish.
For me personally, the Cerana is brilliantly executed. It blends beautifully with the skin and accompanies you throughout the day. The fragrance has a good sillage that never feels overpowering. Due to its fruitiness, the Cerana is wearable for me in any season, and the oud provides enough depth for it to be well-received both during the day and in the evening.
The price-performance ratio is really top-notch here, and the packaging, as well as the bottle, are very high quality.
However, I wouldn't recommend the fragrance to anyone who has no appreciation for oud and would advise against buying it blind.
So that was my first step into the somewhat challenging oud direction, and I am really very positively surprised.
