Here is another Commodity fragrance. Specifically, Moss. And by Moss, I mean the English term for oak moss, and not the nerdy but lovable character from the really funny and great nerd comedy series "The IT-Crowd," which I think is even better and more lovable than "The Big Bang Theory," although I also really like TBBT.
Well, since it will surely get warmer again at some point (you can believe me, even if it still says everywhere that the real winter is yet to come :D), one can occasionally look for new, fresh scents! :D
The Fragrance:
The fragrance starts off beautifully fresh with citrus notes, of which you can best smell the zesty grapefruit. Shortly after, you can detect a bit of orange (must be the Petitgrain), especially the peels, as it has a slightly bitter scent.
A little later, you can smell a slightly minty note, so the eucalyptus begins to take effect. Not very strong, but pleasantly fragrant. When you sniff close to the sprayed area, you feel as if the eucalyptus is clearing the airways :D
Actually, it stays this way for a long time, and you surprisingly smell the citrus notes for quite a while; unfortunately, the eucalyptus fades a bit too quickly. Despite the name, oak moss is only faintly present, as the citrus scents are in the foreground (or maybe I just have trouble smelling the oak moss). The fragrance doesn't develop much further and remains rather unsweetened despite the musk and amber.
The Sillage and Longevity:
Aside from a brief, strong scent burst at the beginning due to the citrus notes, the sillage is mostly mediocre to even rather weak.
The longevity is about four, maybe five hours, which seems to be normal average for fresh scents.
The Bottle:
The bottle is, as always, cylindrical and made of dark glass. The label on the front is also dark, namely black, which fits well with the bottle. The cap is also black and cylindrical. It looks quite okay, even if it might seem a bit simple.
Hmm… the fragrance is somehow quite different from what one would expect from the name. Because the scent neither smells of green, mossy notes, nor really of oak moss and is mostly just citrusy.
This makes the fragrance a refreshing scent for summer that one could spray on from time to time on hot days. However, one shouldn't expect too much, as it ultimately turns out to be a bit too simple, since all the other fragrance notes listed here project very little.
It's nice, but a tad too simple or, in other words: It resembles too many other simple and citrusy fragrances, so I find it a bit too expensive for the price of over 100 euros. However, it’s still worth checking out, as the eucalyptus at the beginning is great and the scent might appeal to one person or another. For example, I found "Bergamot" by Commodity to be far better as a fresh summer scent.
