Fresh and Beautiful!
This is my all time favourite perfume! There is something about it that makes it stand out from the others. It's somewhat citrusy, somewhat aquatic and something that's hard to describe. I find it soft and feminine, but not overpowering at all. They used to sell it at Sephora and Scentbird, but it's often unavailable, so I contacted Commodity and they said since it's in the archive collection, they are only going to make limited batches and sell them for limited periods of time. Although I'm sad that it's not readily available anymore, at least I can find it sometimes at Commodity and Ebay and stock up.

Sound of the thunder and the rain pourin' down
The first spray of Rain is bright and fresh, watery with a unique green citrus zing that I put down to the lemon verbena. It's distinctly not lemon -- no lemonade, Lemon Pledge, whatever, here, but a fuller herbal lemon scent that lasts longer than your average lemon note, while still being stunningly delicate. This convincingly conveys a rain-on-leaves image, then the lotus note rises up, and the scent eventually converts into a musk/watery-via-lotus scent, along with a touch of freesia.

Has about 3 hours of moderate sillage in it, then it becomes weak and hard to catch, and it's hard to say how long it stays after that. In the late stages, I noticed the fragrance can, at times, feel ozonic and metallic -- kind of smells like pennies. I like that, even if I don't know how or why it happens.

This is no dusty-wet petrichor-type scent -- it is pure water and rain, like an interpretation of a long day of spring rain. It reminds me of L'eau d'Issey for its white floral notes, but they are much lighter here, and it reminds me of Bvlgari Crystalline Omnia for the predominance of the lotus, without being as white-lady-bougie. These two perfumes are a bit fuller than Rain, but Rain wins the competition for Most Refreshing. Even though it would be great on warm to hot days, it is a delight to wear on a rainy day as well.

(Title is from "Brown-Eyed Women" by The Grateful Dead!)

The very idea of rain
As a rain lover, I’m finding that I prefer fragrances that encapsulate the concept of rain over those that attempt to replicate the smell exactly. Of the rain fragrances I’ve tried, this one most closely resembles actual rain without imitating it. It is fresh and green, and missing those earthy notes that would make it petrichor. Pairing it with any citrusy or fruity scent makes for an interesting final product, although I love it as it is. This may be the only fragrance I’ve discovered that instantly brightens my mood, without fail.

genuinely rainy scent
Unfortunately I have a eucalyptus, rain and freesia air-freshener for the bathroom that smells quite similar to this haha (Airwick - stacy solomon green bottle if anyone wants to know).

It really does smell like rain on fresh greenery, smell of a tropical rainforest, vague citrus hints. Gets petrichor better than MMM Replica When the rain stops but its more of a green rain smell, like walking through a rainforest.

My Journey with Rain
#1: breaking a piece of watermelon rind into two
#2: soapy sugarcane stalk (or bamboo)
#3: melon soaking in water

Do I like this scent? Yes
Do I want to smell like it? Yes
Another sample/travel size worthy? Yes
Do I need a full bottle? No

An unexpected summer rainstorm washing away sap. A rain scent that doesn't depend on petrichor or ambergris which I prefer. Despite the fruits in my descriptions, it's not fruity- more like everything is in a bubble of water. Fresh with a syrupy green quality, perfect for extreme heat warning days which I tested it in, however it doesn't last very long.

Aquatic and green. I pick up on citrus, a bit of earthiness like moss. Fresh after the rain kind of scent - hence the name

Feels very comforting and fresh, a great after shower scent. I get more floral than rain but still in a foggy spring morning way.

I get fresh rain in a flower field. Specifically wet leaves but it’s more floral than earthy. Not for me

A fresh, "wet" scent that evokes the feeling of a warm spring day either before or after rain. Lightly floral but mostly aquatic and fresh.

Fresh and aquatic. Husband described it as "rain in a melon field," which I think is the verbena coming through.

Anyone fearing the worst with 'Rain' (chemical aqua?) can stay cheerful: fluid made naturally - a clear drop!

Walking barefoot in spring grass, passing by a clothesline with colorful, damp striped socks, the gaze drifts over Lake Ammer.

Just boring or already a failure? Aquatic shower gel stuff with a light green flower - too much to handle.
