Not as bookish as I'd like

Fresh and spicy herbal scent, I don't really get much wood from this, apart from maybe several hours later. Leans masculine to my nose -- reminds me of my dad, who wears Dior Sauvage. For a brief moment if I really engaged my imagination I could smell an old musty book, but that quickly went, and I don't particularly want to smell like a musty book, anyways.

Book-

Reminds me of: Walking through the top floor of the Last Bookstore in downtown Los Angeles in the middle of summer. I’m reading the back of a detective novel as a handsome stranger passes close enough for their scent to linger in the thick summer air, blending with the smells of the old building, the book pages and dust.

This is definitely one of my favourites in the personal scent space samples I have tried, even though it’s hard to choose as they have all been delicious. Commodity has really hit the nail on the head with Book-. It’s soft, sensual, personal; like curling up with a good book or a lover. This is definitely something I would want to reach for on a date night. I like it more than Velvet- as a sensual scent because I do lean more towards wood notes than florals these days. It’s a very personal skin musk scent but with depth. I could not gush about this one more. Just try it, I promise you’ll love it.

Fresh, modern woods, with herbal notes

Book- starts with an herbal, slightly spicy black tea note, opens to a sandalwood heart, and dries down to a stunning cedar and skin musk base. It's very fresh and clean, feels modern rather than dated, and lets the wood notes take center stage. Though it's based around the notes from Book Expressive, it's very much its own thing, staying close to the skin and opening into a more woodsy, intimate feel. This is a book you're reading in a cozy cabin in the woods, on a quiet vacation where no one's asking you to get up and climb a mountain; your teacup is at your side, and the blanket over your legs is soft and fire-warmed.
