A Sunday Drive
Grandpa in the best way.
To me, it evokes the image of an elderly gentleman, freshly shaven, with his gray hair slicked back. The scent of the camphor ointment used earlier in the day lingers faintly around him. He's donning his well worn wool blazer and waiting to greet his blushing bride (of only 54 years) for their ritual Sunday drive.
A few quickly picked garden flowers to present, just because he knows she'll be tickled by the gesture.
Sometimes that's exactly what I, as a woman in my 30s, want to smell like.
