Fresh and addictive
I encouraged myself to test this fragrance after I completed an internet quiz on 'what fragrance is best suited to you?' Dior Addict Eau Fraiche and Chanel No.19 were the recommendations.

I managed to find this fragrance during my trip into the city where I promptly applied a few sprays to my wrist. My first impressions were, "this is not my type of perfume". The top notes were really heavy with the citruses and didn't appeal to my flowery and sweet tastes at all.

I continued on with my shopping and it wasn't until I was travelling home that I smelt my wrist and the look of surprise and amazement crossed my face. My nose was met with a deliciously pretty floral heart of jasmine, tuberose, gardenia and freesia.

Never in my life had I come across a fragrance with such definitive differences between the top and middle notes. I was somewhat happy and disappointed that this fragrance had transformed itself from being something that I disliked to something I thoroughly enjoyed in a matter of hours.

I have considered purchasing this fragrance, but for the price I can't imagine myself doing so. If it wasn't for the fruity top notes, I would have gladly handed over the cash.

I must add that the lasting power is excellent for this fragrance and that the bottle, in my opinion, is much more attractive than the original Dior Addict.

For people that don't mind fruity florals, or refreshing citrus scents, I highly recommend you try Dior Addict Eau Fraiche as it would make a fantastic Summer fragrance to add to your wardrobe.

The only Addict i can wear from the whole range.
This one used to be in my "dislike" list. I always admired the original, it was a signature of someone who was very dear to me and every time i smell it, i always think of her. She didn´t like this one as much as the original and neither did i. But the thing is i can´t wear Addict EDP myself, since it instantly blocks my nose and i become anosmic. With this version it is different story. Just one tiny spray and the beast is out! But this is a softer beast, yet still a beast, originally known as "Dior addict"! This is a flanker that smells like the original, yet more suitable for summertime and springtime, while the original is strictly wintertime for me. I loooove how the notes are combined in here, mr. Wasser - you make some really good blends! It is still very sexy and seductive, yet is more playful. It opens bright and even very much citrusy, yet every step of the way it is still the Addict i know and love. I do like it all the way until the very drydown, which is indeed delicate and airy, but not as suffocating for me as the original. I do not get my nose blocked with this one, hurray!!! So i can easily wear it myself.

Great lasting power and amazing projection!
Just perfect, nothing more, nothing less!!

P.S. I am also a proud owner of a 100mls of original formula in a tester bottle with a twist cap and there are notes listed on the tester. SURPRISINGLY NO VANILLA IS LISTED!!!
So just in case here is a list of notes from tester bottle:

Bergamot
Jasmine petals
Mandarin tree leaf
Gardenia
Queen of the night (no idea what it is)
Bulgarian rose
Tuberose
Mysore sandalwood
White musk

THATS IT!
No extra oranges or mandarines or never a vanilla!!!!!
Im puzzled now .

Addict-Fresh, the little sister
Since Addict is my signature scent and I have to grab, snatch, obtain, catch, and capture anything that smells even remotely as beautiful as Addict, I was already a bit interested in the other fragrances.

After testing Addict Shine and Addict 2, I was initially disappointed. To me, they were just flowery stuff that had nothing to do with the original. I didn't need that, just because they were descendants of the original.

Addict Eau Fraîche had caught my eye more, as the list of fragrance notes came quite close to the original.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find it anywhere online, and in some discussions about it, I picked up that Eau Fraîche is no longer being produced. So I gave up the search for a while.

A few days ago, a member wrote to me here in this wonderful forum (hihi THANK YOU) about a fragrance, the lovely Odeur23! And that led to a swap, in which I was finally able to get this long-sought Eau Fraîche. *yay*

About the scent - At first, Eau Fraîche smells slightly scratchy-floral, which made me hesitate a bit, but that passes quickly. Then this beautiful "Addict note" The-Queen-of-the-Night flower comes through, and it smells like my signature scent - ADDICT! Just in a slimmer and lighter way. This slightly perceptible freshness makes Addict Eau Fraîche suitable for everyday wear, and it lacks the heavy oriental note that makes Addict otherwise so incredibly strong, cloying, and therefore more suitable for the evening.
Eau Fraîche is just as it is named - a fresher, lighter version of the original and still just as unique.
The longevity is good, and Eau Fraîche prefers to stay a bit closer to the wearer and doesn't leave a trail behind it.

Freshness with Statement
I have already emptied a large bottle of Dior Addict EdT completely - and now I'm starting on the second one.
This consistency means something for me, a person who often changes their perfume.

Today, I approached Eau Fraiche with a preconceived notion.

My husband warned that it’s just the same thing in green, only thinner.

He is right about the "green," as that is the mandarin leaf - but Fraiche is not thinner than the EdT.
Especially cool neroli, citrusy orange, and soft vanilla come through clearly right from the start.
Not a diluted summer water.
The freesia, jasmine, and gardenia are also prominent - crowned by the enchanting queen of the night, rose.
The tuberose is not shy either.
Rosewood and tonka bean provide a noble depth, and once again, the vanilla sweetly enters the scene.

A distinctive fresh fragrance - with a characterful statement.

Do not be deceived by the adjective Fraiche, as the scent is marked by fullness and longevity.

Still, it fulfills its promise of freshness, as nothing weighs it down.
There is indeed a similarity to the EdT - yet it follows its own path.

I am happy to have both fragrances in my repertoire.

Cheap Addict Knockoff?
Noooooo! Absolutely not!

I managed to get a sample of Addict Eau Fraiche at the souk and was so excited about this fragrance. Addict is one of my favorite scents, so it’s very hard to compete with it... especially when a fragrance is also called Addict Eau Fraiche!

Upon the first spray, I noticed different scent notes than I am used to with Addict... a bit more citrusy, fresher... hence the name!

Then the "typical" Addict scent comes into play. Not quite as strong and intense, but definitely Addict's queen of the night!

The longevity is not quite as good as Addict, but still rated as good!

Sillage: Eau Fraiche envelops you in a more flattering way, with Addict you can smell it from afar ;-)

The appearance of the bottles is very fitting. The lighter bottle visually matches the lighter "Addict" better.

All in all, Eau Fraiche is also a great scent, unfortunately no longer available, but I still prefer my Addict!

Overall rating 2+

XOXO, Mona

Best summer flanker ever. Fresh but yet… Addict. It always amazes me how they made a fresh soft beast.

It was my first Dior fragrance - perhaps that's why I feel a nostalgic longing. In my opinion, the best Dior Addict scent.

This is a beauty! I already loved the 2014 version. This one is even more special because of the lavender. No longer available.
