Dior Addict Dior Parfum

The old Addict by Dior was not only unique as an Eau de Parfum but also in the even higher (devilish) concentration as Extrait.

Even deeper, even more sensitive, even more sensual than the already sinful Eau de Parfum.

With Addict, you dive into a feeling, let yourself drift, are sensed and conquered.

At the beginning, dark fruity notes of berries and noble cinnamon tease the senses. Later, it becomes creamy floral and more vanilla-like. This vanilla burns itself into the skin over the hours like a tattoo. It lingers to stay, to seduce.

Here I envision the following scenario: A couple in love giving themselves to each other, tasting, breathing quickly, and never letting go again. Addict is a pinch of fire, a load of dynamite. The gentlemen who have smelled it once never forget it.

Majestic vanilla, dirty and grown-up. It is spiced with a touch of cinnamon and the most beautiful bouquet of flowers there is. The star, the queen of the night, who opens her blooms only a few days a year and exudes an aphrodisiac scent.

Anyone who got to know me with this fragrance in the early 2000s never forgot me. Even back then, this scent was sinfully expensive. I got to know it around the year 2002 in winter when I received a sample of it!

Instantly in love. Vanilla with cinnamon and something else seductive that I had never smelled before. Bam! Bought! First in 20 ml, then always only the 100 ml and all the bath products from soap to shower gel, in a similar design, and the body lotion that I also had with shimmer, where my tan looked really good in summer.

Bathing became a true luxury with the Addict shower gel and gave me a unique feeling. I could buy a bubble bath for a few euros or use this one, which put me in a positive mood.

Addict in the shower or in the bath, which relaxed me intimately and made me feel cozy, and then the body lotion with shimmer. Richly, the Eau de Parfum was sprayed! No skimping, just go for it! Boom!

On the earlobe, on the décolleté, the Extrait was carefully sprayed by me and the effect never missed a beat. Neither on the dance floor, where I let myself "drift" dancing to hot rhythms, nor at the bar. People liked to come closer to me.

My girlfriends were always envious when I made a new acquaintance, and later, when we drove home at 3 or 4 in the morning, we talked about it during the ride.

Even my girls smelled wonderful, but I was the queen when I wore Addict. This addiction has not changed to this day. Even today, I love my Addict, of course only the original from 2002.

The other adjusted versions from 2012 and 2014 no longer have this magic or only partially (see Addict 2012).

I still have 7, 100 ml bottles of the 1st version and the Extrait. As dark as the liquid has become over time, as I have matured, I prepare myself for the battle against Addict only to know that I am devoted to this battle and that I will lose.

The Dior Addict PARFUM is a must for any lover of the Dior Addict EDP (2002). It is an Extrait, meaning the pure perfume concentration of the fragrance.

Interesting facts:
Starting with the Dior Addict (EDP), it is worth mentioning that this fragrance has been reformulated three times in total. The launch of Addict took place in 2002 when Thierry Wasser developed the EDP, creating an entirely extraordinary and outstanding scent. The unique fragrance note was the so-called "Queen of the Night," a cactus flower that blooms only for one night a year, looking not only beautiful but also exuding a captivating, strong vanilla aroma.
In 2008, the bottle was changed for the first time. It was designed to be slightly slimmer, and while the Dior Addict lettering on the 2002 version was still dark blue, just like the entire bottle, it was printed in gold starting from 2008. The fragrance formula did not change with this redesign of the bottle.
Then in 2012, the fragrance was reformulated for the first time, and the bottle was changed again. This time, it was adorned with a golden ring in the upper bottle area. Some fragrance notes were no longer used, and the formula was reduced, but the Queen of the Night remained in the EDP. Finally, in 2014, the fragrance was reformulated for the last time. In this case, the Queen of the Night was completely omitted, giving the "latest" Addict version a different touch. The bottle was also changed again, with the cap no longer featuring the familiar unique "twist function," but instead designed to be a classic snap-on, now in silver rather than gold as before. Many lovers of the 2002 original Addict believe that the "Queen of the Night" is crucial to why the 2014 version appears different from the original. When making a direct comparison and spraying both fragrances simultaneously, one almost gets the impression that the scents smell relatively similar. However, it quickly becomes clear: the 2002 version smells more refined, has a certain depth and fullness that the 2014 version lacks! Some sources claim that it is not the rare cactus flower but simply "oak moss" that is responsible for the character of the 2002 version! This fragrance ingredient is only found on the packaging and is often overlooked as a result. Oak moss is no longer used in fragrances today because it has been banned. So much for the history of this unique scent!
The Perfume:
Just like the 2002 EDP, the perfume opens with the slightly greenish, fresh bitterness of the mandarin leaf, but from the very first second, the warm vanilla character of the Queen of the Night comes through - and not sparingly, as we are talking about the Extrait of the fragrance! The vanilla aroma fills the room, and slowly but increasingly, one can perceive the orange blossom as well as the rose, which is a dark, deep rose that is enchanting. The orange blossom ensures that the vanilla takes on a slightly fruity, bitter touch, allowing the sweetness to shine through better. Towards the end, the tonka bean and sandalwood come into play, giving the fragrance depth! The bourbon vanilla does its part and ensures that the scent anchors itself at the wrist. In the end, a certain uniqueness remains, which can still be perceived for hours. Could it be the oak moss?...
