Infinite delight
Disclaimer - not a fan of Dior, not a fan of the original J'adore. And yet...

I received some free samples months ago and was a bit disappointed at first - nothing special, predictable Demachy is doing predictable boring work...BUT something kept me from dismissing it altogether.

And after 4 empty samples and numerous tests, here I am with a new 50ml bottle! There are only a few fragrances that made me do a 180° turn and change my mind so completely, and I did not expect it to happen with this one.

The velvety white flowers, the soft sandal base, the barely-there vanilla...A balancing act so finely executed that it can seem almost too easy. And yet, it has the steady, dependable quality of old that designer perfumes used to deliver in the 70s-80s-90s... A quality (and I don' mean a retro or vintage feel, I mean composition and ingredient quality) which is hard to find nowadays!

On my skin it settles into a beautiful floral, melting into a very natural skinscent with a non obtrusive aura. The base is to die for! I renounce my snobbish ways, I am vanquished, my hat off to Monsieur Demachy and my heart belongs to Infinissime ️

Is this unisex, is for ladies only or some kind of unicorn?
Hi Parfume lovers,

the previous J´adore was really meh for me, I like Charlize but the perfume was not so mine, I even not liked it on testers or my girlfriend´s skin.

When DIOR launched this new Infinissime, I was curious to see if it is as bad as previously and what a surprise !

It has similarity with the original but all the bad parts were removed and now is more intense, less sweet and quite floral for my nose - I get strong tuberose then some nice jasmin.

I even tried it on my skin as a man, why not .. and it has a huge longevity and I must admit that I sniffed my wrist quite a lot, it does smell very unisex I would say .. just like Feve Deliceuse does.

I see many bad reviews and I think that this is the beauty of life, not everbody must like the same things.

From my side, master parfumeur Francois Demachy made J´adore better and I like it.

Unsure of this one...
This J'Adore flanker has left me a little underwhelmed. I've worn it for a couple of days at this point and I can't decide whether I like or dislike this fragrance. That said, I would never buy it for myself (I received a tester of this with a different perfume purchase).

The top notes are mostly bergamot and pink pepper for me. I can definitely distinguish the spiciness of the pepper. The heart notes are a nice blend of florals, howver I can't distinguish any individual notes. The drydown is creamy and slightly powdery. The spice is gone at this point. At this point it reminds me of a perfume (Cindy Crawford Feminine) that I used to have but also didn't enjoy very much. After this the scent remains onedimensional.

Sillage is quite good, others will be able to pick up on it standing next to you. It lasts for about 7 hours on my skin. The perfume itself gives me a bit of a mature vibe. Personally I prefer something more fresh and bright.

The Despised and Exiled Angel. A Redemption!

I absolutely must contribute to the good reputation of Infinissime. NOW! And if it's the last thing I do today (on parfumo)! And friends, I'm not messing around here, because this will be a truly serious... uh, serious review. You will get to know me!! No laughing here! The French didn't laugh today either when they lost to Argentina. It’s the 4th Advent, so the arrival of blessed reason, and I will not pull anyone through the mud. Promise!
My dear Infinissime, some people have left no good word or feather about you. Lucifer, one of the former archangels, was also cast out of heaven, losing his angel wings, and none of the other archangels lifted a finger to help him.
The other archangels, the whole J’adore crew, just looked dumbfounded.
No friends, I like all J’adore fragrances and find them good to great, also because none, whether sweet, floral, or everything together, has ever turned into some random sugary water. Period!
Sure, you dance a bit out of the feminine or creamy J’adore line. You are a bit like a painting by Monet, whose beauty and power one only recognizes when stepping back a few meters, closing one's eyes, and letting it take effect.
You don't pander and even have a certain peppery roughness.
I hear the tinkling of lily of the valley and how you argue with the tuberoses about who gets to ride the sandalwood sled through the night. You are both welcome!
I have glued your feathers back on. Still, you will never return to heaven. With me, you are much better off. Let the others chatter!

Substantial
At D, a small table was set up with the new J'adore.
And a perfume sales associate stood right next to it - to talk about the fragrance.

I appreciated this very much, as I enjoy learning about the backgrounds of scents.

Infinissime is produced very carefully, with the petals being placed separately on a wax frame in a tiered manner - allowing their aroma to infuse into the wax layer.
After a certain period, the wax layers are heated, and the fragrance notes are filtered out from the now oily extract.

This sounded very meticulous to me, as I had imagined fragrance production more in a mundane lab, where mostly chemists work with synthetic substances.
I do not want to devalue that - as these results can also be impressive - or rather, smell good.

But the elaborate manufacturing process of Infinissime still convinces me - as does the scent.

A wave of flowers reaches my nose, so substantial that at first I can only identify Ylang and Tuberose.
Gradually, the initial fragrance wave smooths out, and sweet Centifolia and bright Jasmine emerge.
This benefits the intense scent - as it now appears a bit more transparent.
Subtle citrus notes refresh Infinissime - and Sandalwood feels creamy.

An elegant, lush fragrance that needs a noble setting - and is too voluminous for my everyday use.

On autumn evenings or in winter, I would love to wear it for "occasions."

And since maintaining a safe distance from others is currently desired, no one will complain about the noticeable sillage.

J'adore is a classic, like it or not. This is just a random mix of ALL THE FLORALS with no balance IMO. Uninteresting, unnecessary flanker.

I didn't expect tuberose to come across so positively here. An extremely opulent scent. But it has very little to do with the original.

The softness and subtlety that define J'adore are completely lost here. Loud tuberose instead of understated floral elegance.

J'Adore and I never seemed to match. It's too floral and overwhelming for me. The tuberose really takes center stage here.

Yeah. Exactly what I imagine an opulent floral bouquet to be. Feminine, lush, classic, perfumey. Not for me.

Very aromatic beautiful tuberose with a light freshness from the hint of blood orange. A mix of sweetness, warmth, and floral notes. Stable, opulent, elegant.

Very feminine and harmonious. Delicate tuberose without gum. Artfully floral. Floral art. Hats off!
