wheaty vanilla

a gorgeously creamy and luxe vanilla with wheaty bran and rich cardamom on a bed of warm resins and powdery iris. Such a silky composition that opens with a smooth cardamom and balmy elemi that quickly gets taken over by a creamy vanilla enveloped in dusty bran and iris. You do get a hint of fresh thyme as a little green touch but its ultimately a bran heavy vanilla with that iris and warm, balsamic spices. The leather peeks through subtly but its feminine, soft, and worn in, never rugged or heavy. The dry down is a richer vanilla with warm myrrh and a bit of depth from the oud. Just simply lovely.

Introduction

"Dude, how awesome is this scent?!" Those were my first thoughts when I sprayed Spice D’Arno for the first time. I was primarily interested in 7 when ordering samples. However, that quickly turned out to be a major disappointment (see my statement). So, a bit less eagerly, I sprayed Spice D’Arno next and…
WOW. Just WOW! If an angel had a scent, it would probably be this one. Why I make such a bold claim, I will explain later.

Fragrance Description

The fragrance opens directly with a dreamy vanilla. Sweet, yes, but not too sweet. Just the right amount. Alongside the vanilla, some spices are frolicking, almost floating around. The wheat absolute comes across a bit "grainy," giving the scent a slight bitterness. A pinch of saffron adds that "aura effect" reminiscent of "Baccarat Rouge 540 (Eau de Parfum) | Maison Francis Kurkdjian," making the scent almost "hover in the room."
The orange blossom, enveloped by fine balsam and resins, gives the fragrance a light citrusy and, at the same time, resinous touch, which is only subtly perceptible. Overall, all the notes are so wonderfully blended that the scent feels harmonious, rounded, soft, and creamy. Like the embrace of an angel. A poem of fragrance notes!

Fragrance Development

Thank goodness Spice D’Arno hardly changes at all. Because the opening is everything to me, and I am more than grateful to experience this until the very end and for a long time.

Performance

Speaking of performance: Again, 1+ with *. The scent is definitely present after spraying and projects quite well, but it is never too intrusive, too strong, or potent. I am shockingly in love. I am not someone who wants to stand out with my fragrance, so this scent is just perfect for me.
Finally, a fragrance that is suitable for everyday wear, (almost) always wearable, and accompanies me throughout the day. The longevity is truly great at a minimum of 9 hours.

What do angels actually smell like?

As I mentioned at the beginning, this scent is like no other, a signature for angels. Why?
Just like angels, this fragrance has no gender. It is perfectly unisex. It is sweet, but not too sweet. Spicy, but not too spicy. Just right in the middle. And so it is for the wearability of both genders: Exactly in the middle.

Final Words

I think it should be clear by now: I am in love!!! Thank you for allowing me to discover this amazing fragrance for myself. Thank you for accompanying me from now on into eternity.

Autumn is Coming …

Very hard to describe, but this fragrance is definitely an autumn dream.

To my nose, it is a spicy gourmand. Slightly sweet with a lot of spice, but soft and creamy, and absolutely no spice bazaar, etc.

Unfortunately, I only have a decant and have worn the fragrance several times. My husband rarely comments on my perfumes, but he found this one incredibly good.

From the very beginning, I smell a lot of cardamom in a very balsamic way; it must be the interplay with the gurjun balsam. A lot of cashmeran and a divine vanilla with orange, or is it a lemon sprinkled with sugar? It’s like having an orange cake in the oven without it being in the bakery. Sweet myrrh and incense are also clearly perceptible. Everything is very complex but so incredibly well made that the fragrance is a feast for the nose.

The fragrance is absolutely unisex, although I see it a bit more on a woman. H+S is top.. I smell zero leather, by the way. So, anyone who doesn’t like leather doesn’t need to worry..

It absolutely has to move in with me..

Addendum. The fragrance has moved in and unfortunately belongs to the perfumes that first need to mature for a long time. H+S is unfortunately weak. In my decant, it was strong. That’s why I downgraded H+S in my review.. Unfortunately..

A Really Great Gourmand

Spice D'Arno is a really beautiful gourmand that knows how to impress. I don't find this fragrance too sweet, but also not lacking in sweetness. The sweetness is just perfectly balanced, and the scent will likely shine its brightest on the colder days of the year, attracting much more attention then.

The fragrance starts off wonderfully sweet, with a slightly nutty nuance for me.
The super fine vanilla is immediately noticeable, as well as a hint of orange blossom and this slightly nutty character.
The orange blossom, combined with this sweet flair, reminds me a bit of Parfums de Marly Althair. The nutty character probably comes from the wheat absolute.

Over time, I can also detect some iris, cardamom, and myrrh-like notes. Furthermore, the fragrance has a distinctly balsamic character.
In the background, oud and leather likely contribute to that certain little twist that keeps the sweetness in check, ensuring it never becomes too sweet.

The performance of Spice D'Arno is quite good. The scent lasts about 7-8 hours on my skin, and I'm satisfied with that.
The fragrance definitely falls into the unisex category.

All in all, a fantastic scent!
It's definitely worth a try.

Golden Autumn

Phew, the scent is really very, very complex and hard to describe, but I'll try it from my perspective.
Upon spraying the fragrance, I get a lot of leather and iris; after about 1 to 2 minutes, the orange blossom mixed with vanilla emerges for me, which softens the scent a bit.
Then, after another 1 to 2 minutes, I perceive the oud very well + incense.
For me, it is a very multifaceted fragrance that undergoes many transformations.
Spice D'Arno is a scent that reflects autumn well for me.
I see a path ahead of me lined with many trees, their leaves already glowing yellow/orange. The sun is shining and the wind is blowing gently. It is still a bit warm, just a really beautiful golden autumn.
I perceive the smell of the wood.
This is truly a very beautiful fragrance and definitely unisex.
It suits both men and women very well.
