Astrum Nova Electimuss 2025

If Vesper Reverie was the moment of twilight, Astrum Nova is the evening star.

The initial spray is a burst of bright, tropical light. You will be greeted by the juiciest, and ripest mango you've ever had the pleasure of smelling. Imagine the juices dripping down your hand as you hungrily devour it. The brightest star of this composition is and will always be the MANGO. David Chiezie is truly the master of mango, every single note here only contributes to the mango accord he has masterfully crafted. The mandarin lends it's tartness, ambrette seeds give it the musky lift. Osmanthus becomes its leathery skin, oakmoss becomes the little green this oh so beautiful mango has. The oud, provides it's soft woody note as the stem. And of course, vanilla and tonka give it that sweetness! You will be smelling this juicy mango for at least 10 hours and enjoy it fully from dusk to dawn.

Astrum Nova is one of those fragrances that I'm not quite sure how to feel about.
On one hand, I like it, on the other hand, not so much.
It's tricky! It’s also one of those scents that I believe should definitely be tested beforehand. Often, despite the high prices, some blind purchases happen.
In this case, I would advise against it.

The fragrance definitely starts off prominently fruity.
Especially the mango stands out here. Quite synthetic, as fruity notes often tend to be, and at the same time, the mango feels very ripe.
Almost too ripe.
Other fruity notes and a bit of bergamot join in. The bergamot tries to balance this fruit sweetness with its slightly "bitter" freshness. But it doesn’t quite succeed.

Over time, the fragrance transforms quite a bit. You can feel how the fruity notes gradually fade into the background and eventually seem to completely disappear. A mix of musk, tonka bean, a bit of oud, vanilla, and a kind of amber completely take over.
It also feels creamy-woody.

First of all, you have to enjoy fruity scents, fruity notes that come across as almost overripe, and secondly, you have to like this total transformation because the fruity notes suddenly vanish completely.

The fragrance lasts about 7-8 hours on my skin. The sillage is also quite solid to good.
Astrum Nova is definitely very well suited for unisex wear.
