Smells more expensive than it is
In the US, this is classified as a "drugstore cheapie." There's nothing lower, save maybe chain store body sprays and counterfeits. Drugstore cheapies are one step above (or just below) "celebrity fragrances."

I had this idea so auto-ingrained that I never tried either. Classic contempt prior to investigation: guilty!

And what a treat to finally discover fragrances well worth considering in both categories. This one, White Tea Wild Rose, was such a delightful surprise.

I love roses, and rose fragrances -- but with a lot of caveats. No potpourri - no powder - no patchouli (I've since relented on the latter). I want the scent of an old-fashioned garden rose chosen and planted for its exceptional fragrance. I want fresh, dewy. Nothing else added that interferes, one-ups, distracts from the rose.

And White Tea Wild Rose is all that.

What it is not is long-lasting. And so what? Sometimes that is ideal; say, when I want to wear something else later in the day. I can apply this early in the morning, and then switch to something else mid-afternoon. Or I just reapply: after all, it's a cheapie! And the opening is such a pleasure, reapplying is a joy.

A Ghost of a Rose
I really wanted to like this fragrance. With a name like that, I expected a fresh, slightly wild rose, something delicate but alive. Unfortunately, what we get here isn’t a blooming rose, but more like its ghost, diluted in lukewarm water.

White Tea Wild Rose smells faintly of old-fashioned rose water, the kind you might find at the supermarket to freshen up linens or spray on your pillow. It’s a familiar scent, yes, but barely there, as if the perfume itself is unsure whether it wants to exist. Just a few minutes after spraying, it’s already fading into a blur.

Even at a low price point, it’s hard to recommend - unless maybe you’re looking for something to fall asleep to, with the faintest trace of rose. But even then, I find myself a little disappointed. A pity, really.

Soapy Rose

I got a sample of this one with my last purchase in the drug store and after reading the reviews first, I was really excited of trying this one out today since I'm really into wearing fresh and clean scents in (home) office. Many people stated this scent would be rosy but more on the fresh side … powdery, almost green – these kind of scents really get me into the mood of getting shit done.

Sadly though, White Tea Wild Rose didn't. For me this is a pure (and quite plain) rose scent.
When you first spray it, you really get the freshness (I guess it's the berries) people are talking about, but it's gone after a few minutes already.
Then it starts smelling more and more like rose while you still get the white tea note. But at this point – and we're only a few minutes into the whole experience – it already gets plain and boring to me.
A few hours into it now I feel like the white tea ist almost gone and what I'm smelling now, I associate with these classic rose soaps you always get in present bags (and I really don't want to be mean about this!), but in a slighty softer, more powdery way …

For me this one is just missing some complexity and playfulness. It's really straight forward but not in a sophisticated but almost boring way. Like someone who tried to hard to stay on the safe side, so it's just nothing unique or remarkable about this.

I agree though that this is a really inoffensive and clean scent and I think if you're into classic rosy scents, this could be a great purchase and I would even say a safe blind buy.
If you're not going crazy about rose scents or classic oldschool soapy scents then this probably won't make you happy.

the ocean doesn't care
Finally, it's here: the long-awaited summer vacation! After a few turbulent weeks, our decision to spend time by the sea felt absolutely right. When we were in Fuerteventura in 2016, fascinated by the untamed, rough Atlantic, our standard phrase became, as we complained about our work there: “the ocean doesn't care.” And yes, it really doesn't care. It was there long before us and hopefully will be after us as well.

There is something healing about seeing water in motion, whether it's a gentle stream, a splashing shower, or a wild ocean. A popular stress-reduction method is also water meditation, where one imagines that very body of water. This inner journey of thought is said to be as relaxing as looking at photos. However, the most relaxation comes from an actual visit. So, quickly pack your bags and off we go.

Not, however, as you might have guessed, without a well-filled cosmetic bag with perfume. So it was very convenient that I received two sample shipments from my dear perfume friends the week before. Some of the samples went straight into the bag, along with a few extra ones I had saved for the vacation from my collection. Don’t forget the notebook and pen, and the cheerful summer vacation testing series can begin.

The scent for Day 1: the journey, should be an uncomplicated one, so I chose White Tea Wild Wild Rose, which I had tested in the perfumery months earlier and found to be good. Right after spraying, I am enveloped by a fresh and very pleasant rose scent. My friend likes it too, so I get to sit in the passenger seat and don’t have to travel in the trunk ;)

The scent quickly develops a slight soapiness, which seems just bearable and clean to me here and now. Is it me or the wind, but after 2 hours I can smell nothing and spray diligently again. On the road and not always fully attentive to my nose, I can't say at that moment whether the original White Tea DNA is present; later, tested in parallel, it could be. However, the scent remains rather linear, with a dominant rose. Here, I would have wished to smell more tea. The fragrance pyramid is quite lush, and I wonder what is going on with my nose? Why can I only smell this slightly soapy rose?

After 6 hours of driving, we finally arrive in Norddeich, quickly park the car, hop on the ferry, and sail over to Norderney. Hello Ocean, nice to see you again! Do you like my rose scent? I believe the ocean doesn't care.
And I find it nice and pleasant, but it's not one that I absolutely need to acquire. Given the choice, I would always reach for the original or, when it comes to rose scents, for Stella.

Brewing Tea with Rose Water!
Hello everyone! I'm back and today I'm going to tell you about another fragrance. Today it's about one of the new flankers of Elizabeth Arden's White Tea scent, which I was very excited about back then because,… well, hello? Tea scent? Of course, I was thrilled by the fragrance :D
Of course, I did complain back then about the absolutely miserable sillage, because I'm always somehow complaining (There's coriander in it! It's too hot! I don't have a girlfriend! Stupid people drink tea WITH milk in it! No one lets me bite them! It's too hot! I already mentioned the last one, but the extremely hot summer is really annoying me, whine whine whine, and tomorrow will be particularly brutal!!!), but aside from that, White Tea was an excellent and highly recommendable white tea scent for tea fragrance lovers :)

So, I never thought that White Tea would become a new fragrance line, as this year two flankers were released! Namely Wild Rose and Vanilla Orchid! And it was so clear that I had to test these fragrances. And I finally did. While I was in the fragrance store (actually more like a drugstore), I saw all the fragrances lined up next to each other, so it was a great opportunity to compare all three scents. So I grabbed the bottles, waited until the last woman was about 1 km away (since these are women's fragrances and, as we all know, NO ONE is allowed to see me spray a women's fragrance!! :D) and then sprayed myself all over!

And it was a lot of fun to test these tea fragrances, even if this scent, Wild Rose, is olfactorily the weakest fragrance in this line, at least in my opinion. So here are my thoughts on it:

The Scent:
The scent starts off for a moment like the regular White Tea (but without the mandarin aroma), where you can perceive a very weak white tea, but soon you smell a slightly sour rose that smells just like roses do. The roses are not as intense in sillage as in some other fragrances, but they are still the strongest note in this scent and quite noticeable.
At first, the tea scent is often clearly overshadowed by the roses, making it difficult at times to perceive the white tea or even the mate. Meanwhile, there’s a nice little sweetness coming from the amber.
A little later, the amber becomes weaker, allowing you to perceive the roses for a while until they lose some intensity, at which point you can smell the tea better again. In the end, the scent still smells of sour-floral roses, but also a bit of tea and mate, and is generally not very sweet. The scent is nice, but not particularly special.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The scent is truly not a knockout, but at least it is significantly stronger than the beautiful, but admittedly sillage-poor regular White Tea. Because at least I could occasionally perceive this scent without having to sniff closely at my arm, so the scent should still be somewhat noticeable to others from a distance. The longevity is also significantly better. While you could hardly smell the regular White Tea after two hours, you can perceive Wild Rose on the skin for six hours or even a bit longer.

The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and has a beautiful gradient from white to transparent (from top to bottom). At the bottom of the bottle, the fragrance name is written in pink letters. The neck of the bottle is gold-plated, and the rectangular cap is white. A nice bottle that also feels good in the hand.

So, that was the first flanker of White Tea that I tried here. I didn't like the scent as much as the regular White Tea, which may also be due to the roses, as they came across as too ordinary and thus a bit 0815 boring. The regular White Tea, on the other hand, smelled much nicer of great tea, even though you could only perceive the scent very briefly and very weakly. However, this one has turned out to be more than twice as good in terms of sillage and longevity, even if that might not be immediately noticeable.

If I hadn't also tried the significantly better Vanilla Orchid at the same time, I would now say that the waiting time of about four hours in front of the shelf until all the women finally left so I could test the scent was completely in vain, he he :D

But seriously, the scent is rather mediocre and will probably only be moderately well received. Because for tea lovers, the tea here smells too little, or the scent is too rosy, even though you should be able to smell the tea a bit better towards the end. And for rose lovers, the rose here is too 0815-rosy and thus nothing special. It's a bit of a shame, but well, as I said, there’s still the Vanilla Orchid, which I will probably present here sometime in the coming week, so please be patient, drink tea (but in this heat, preferably only lukewarm), play with the cat, and continue to complain about the upcoming hot days (like I do, yuck, tomorrow it will be hotter than on the surface of the sun again, baaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!).

I live in Atlanta and the entire White Tea line gives me life during the summer, but I have a special love for rose scents.

Surprisingly spa-like and lux for a drugstore cheapie! The rose note is fresh-fragrant-garden-rose realistic. I'd definitely re-purchase.

What a basic scent (pejorative).

Take the EDP, add some more rose, and a quickly fading pear blossom, and Tada! It's nice, but I don't think it needed to exist.

At first, a lovely tea party with a wild rose beauty. Tarry, powdered, calm. But then, on Halloween, she reveals herself as Chloe.

it's a fine English rose scent, softly mellowed by tea - I feel wonderfully Agatha Christie sophisticated in it ;-)

Spontaneous test opinion: Smells like grandma Anna's old-fashioned rose soap. Somehow charming, but definitely for older folks.
