Citruses and pleasant spiciness
I'm pleasantly surprised by this one. I placed it at the end of the discovery set because I've smelled many citruses that don't last and per the notes I wasn't expecting much, but I've got to admit I was wrong.
Blood orange, clementine and lemon are very strong and they're the highlight of this fragrance. Juicy, tangy, zesty, they're perfect for warm weather. The basil added in this reminds me of Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic. While I found Guerlain's interpretation beautiful, it didn't last long. This one has way more lasting power. I thought the citruses would end up fading away rapidly, but they resisted the passing of time. I never smelled water lilies or pear blossom distinctively, but there is a pleasant soapy, clean scent that ends up appearing which I'm guessing comes from them. Ginger is the next note that stands out, giving the fragrance a lovely spicy tinge. The drydown is calm, soothing and follows the theme of this perfume.
I really love it. Even though I have a few citruses in my collection, I feel like this one is sufficiently different to be added. The sillage is weak, yes, but I still smell the citruses on my skin after awhile and as a citrus lover, this is priceless to me.
