A soothing salted floral scent
Salt has been owned by my boyfriend ever since I got it as a free sample and gave it to him because I already had one in the Scent Diary fragrance discovery set. I've smelled it a few times on him and I've been enthralled ever since. It was now time to see if my own skin would react well to it.
Soothing. This is the first word that comes to my mind as I inhale the top notes. I can almost picture myself relaxing at a spa, lounging on a patio chair. There's definitely florals that come up when the fragrance first settles on your skin, but there's also a strong salty, almost mineral note that shines through and remains from the top to the bottom. Ylang-ylang imparts a creamy, calm facet while tiaré gives a gentle tropical vibe to the fragrance. Chinese magnolia is beautiful as it unfurls a floral, almost fruity note. Sandalwood shines through with a creamy note, but it also has a bit of woodiness, like driftwood that has been soaked thoroughly by the salt of the sea. The ambergris in here is strong, yes, but it's also reminiscent of taking a dip in the sea while the sun is setting, soaking up the last rays of sunshine. The drydown is a sea salt and sand skin scent that follows closely the theme of this perfume.
Overall, this is the best fragrance I've smelled from the salty family of fragrances and I really do think it's a beautiful scent to have in your collection for warm weather and days at the beach. I'll be adding a full bottle to my collection as soon as I can.
