Vanilla Milk Ellis Brooklyn 2022

Definitely vanillic, creamy, and milky (kinda like sweet condensed milk), with a somewhat sour/incensey/plasticky/vegetal??? underlying scent in the background. It's hard for me to describe that weird thing in the background but I can see why it’s so polarizing because it’s it’s definitely really unique!

I actually… kinda like it, I think ? It’s really strong to me (lasted all day and i felt like I was choking myself out with onlu 2 sprays). I feel like this would be a great alternative for me to wear over MMM By The Fireplace (not that they smell the same, but they do fit the same category) during the colder months.

This is what I imagined Milk would smell like based on the name. It's very lactonic with a touch of sweetness, but there is a little funk to it, similar to "Vanilla Sex / Vanilla | Tom Ford". I also find it very similar to Afternoon Delight because both this and that have a note that I can only really describe as salty.

I've been interested in vanilla scents and Ellis Brooklyn since the start of my journey so naturally I was drawn to try this as a sample. Unfortunately, it smells weird on me. I'm not sure how I can describe it. I keep looking over at the notes and I can't even detect one note out of all of them except maybe the milk one? I can say it is warm, but it's also lactonic and overpoweringly powdery (and I hate powdery notes). My boyfriend says it literally smells as it name says, but I don't really smell any vanilla and milk. I'm sad because I really wanted to love this scent, but it's not gonna work out for my skin.

This is a sweet, lactonic, woody vanilla floral. Opens as a very sweet vanilla custard. Goes a little smokey and woody in the heart for a few mins which is really nice. Dries down into a slightly woody, vanilla custard. It’s like wearing a gentler Vanilla Skin while stirring a pot of vanilla bean custard. It’s a little bit tart or sour when I bring my nose close to my skin, but not at arms distance. The scent bubble is very soothing, comforting and cozy. It’s not a scent profile I would usually wear or reach for, but I’m going to pop the sample over to my newly established bedtime scents tray.

People talk about this perfume like it unleashed a plague on their family, so when I saw it at Mecca i had to try it out. It just smells like a vanilla candle. You can smell wax and an approximation of a vanilla scent. The candle has been burned a few times, the wick is black and the glass has soot. So yeah, there's a melted plastic/rubber/burning smokey note - probably from resins and wood. But weirdly I don't hate it. Certainly does not smell like sour or rotten milk. Definitely don't blind buy, but worth a test.
