Milk and toast and honey....
To bring a little lovin' honey
To take away the hurt inside
Is everything that matters to me
Is everything I want in life
This is virtually THE song by Roxette, which permanently haunts my head when wearing the fragrance.
Bee is for me the olfactory embodiment of creamy canola blossom honey, which mixes with the butter when spread on warm toast...for me a beautiful feel-good scent, which with its soft, warm gourmand note, makes every day a good day.
Bee starts with the honey-on-warm-toast-with-butter note that instantly puts me in a relaxed "hachistdasschön" mood. After 10 minutes, some spice is added by cinnamon and sandalwood, all very soft and fluffy-sweet. After 3 hours, the honey note settles and it remains a warm-sweet sandalwood vanilla scent, which only slightly hints at the honey toast.
The fragrance remains a total of up to 8 hours well present, on clothes always remains a touch until washing. The silage is nicely present without being intrusive, for such a sweet fragrance.
I think the scent is made more for females, and for me this scent would even be wearable year round, as the honey is not so squeaky sweet due to the sandalwood and cereal undertones.
I confess to being an absolute honey lover in fragrances. Also sweetness and density lie me very much, and thus this new fragrance is already a small dream for me. Especially because it represents for me a honey scent as wearable all year round. Furthermore, this fragrance is already something fancy, and you will not get him everywhere to smell, or already have umpteen similar in his collection.

Conclusion: A very nice new discovery for me, of which I will get me pretty sure the big bottle.

When Pu the bear looks too deeply into the glass
Excitement in the Hundred and Sixty Acre Wood. Pu the bear is gone! Christopher Robin and all his friends are looking for the Bear of Little Mind, but where is he? Is he stuck in Rabbit's front door again? Is he floating as a black cloud in front of a bees' nest? Has he even been devoured by a heffalump?

No, he's at home under the blanket and his head is buzzing and that, dear children, is what you call a hangover! What had happened? "Was the golden liquid in the barrel that Christopher Robin secretly stole from his parents and brought to the party with his friends perhaps not very runny honey after all?", Pu asks himself, groaning as he emptied the barrel on his own in his exuberance. And so the cuddly bear unknowingly had his first experience with rum.

Why I want to tell you about this forgotten story of the adventures of Pooh the Bear, which A. A. Milne preferred not to include in the book after all, so as not to give his son any ideas, is because it pretty much reflects the scent character of Bee as I perceived him.

In my search for THE honey fragrance that can compete with Pure Honey but is more long-lasting, I was often recommended Bee by Ellis Brooklyn. When the sample reached me, I was accordingly full of anticipation. And yes, Bee performs better than my beloved Pure Honey, BUT it doesn't smell particularly like honey to me. The rum and vanilla are just too strong for that.
The former starts things off with the Darvana and together they put a lively samba on the package so that you can already hear Cuban bells ringing. Honey is also there, but stands on the sidelines and watches the two of them. After a while, the Darvana disappears, but the rum has a lot more staying power; for me, it is clearly perceptible right to the end and is accompanied by an equally potent vanilla for most of the time after the opening
All in all, a great fragrance if you are looking for a sweet gourmand with a Caribbean flair, but not what I wanted, namely honey in its purest form.

a hot, honeyed cup of rooibos tea
I am having an interesting moment with Bee from Ellis Brooklyn. Which is to say I don’t hate it. I almost even like it? This is strange because typically gourmand scents aren’t my thing. I want to smell like a mossy bog witch or bioluminescent flora on an alien planet, or mottled parchment poetry penned by a lovelorn bookbinder. And honey is such a weird note, with its aromas both attractive and repellent, that ambrosial golden syrupy floral note that eventually devolves to the pungence of a filthy feral flower urinal in the height of August. Bee is not a super realistic honey, which is fine with me, I don’t want realism in my perfume anyway. It’s a floofy, poofy vanilla and sandalwood marshmallow dusted liberally with dehydrated buckwheat honey and clover pollen and layered with this dark, balsamic rich woody rumminess that’s not quite rum and at all, and it took me a few days but I worked it out. At its heart, Bee conjured the sweet, full-bodied warmth and vaguely fruity tobacco notes of a hot cup of rooibos tea. I don’t often want to smell like this, and I don’t even like rooibos tea, so isn’t the sort of thing I could wear every day... but I think I can appreciate that it’s a really lovely offering that gives you something a little different than what you might expect from it.

The better "bee"
After trying "bee" by zoologist (which I found to be cloying and one-note) I was happy to find Ellis' rendition to have some of the complexity I was hoping to get from zoologist.

Here we have more of a boozy take on honey from the start. From there, the dry down actually takes you on a bit of a journey. At the heart, my husband said it reminded him of "cereal" which must be the bran notes. I also detect a hint of chocolate which must be the cocoa.

I get a little bit of the woodsy smell from the sandalwood, but it reads almost like cedar to me. At the base, it's a true vanilla smell.

I'm typically not a fan of gourmand scents, but this one is fairly inoffensive. If you like sweet smells, and are okay smelling a bit like honey-nut cheerios, it will not disappoint.

I'm realizing that strong vanilla smells are not my cup of tea. So for that reason, I could only give a 2-star review, but take that with a big grain of salt. If you like vanilla at all, you'll probably love this.

Honey flavoured cough drops
I'll start this review by saying I do have a full bottle of Bee by Zoologist which is in part why this fragrance was the last one I wanted to try. In my eyes, nothing can top Zoologist's interpretation of bees. Does this factor in my review or not? I don't know, but I wanted to be as transparent as possible.

I'll go straight to the point: this fragrance doesn't suit my skin chemistry. It smells like a mix between Ozonol (an antibiotic ointment) and honey favoured cough drops. Absolutely horrible. I do have to admit rum usually tends to turn out strong on my skin while cocoa usually turns out wrong on me (a mix of acrid powderiness) and since they're both featured here, I was certain the whole perfume would be tainted. There is a honey note in there, but I don't feel like it shines as much as it should. Spices are almost too overpowering. There's an organic, musty, almost bread-like accord, probably from the bran. Cinnamon stays at the edge of the scent. The fragrance ends up fading into a faint sweet, vanilla and honey scent. Better than the top or middle notes of the fragrance.

If you don't like Bee, you might like this one and vice versa. I'm firmly staying on the Zoologist side. If it wasn't for the weird medicinal scent, I might have enjoyed this fragrance more, but unfortunately my skin chemistry wanted to go this way.

Did not expect to like this as much as I did. Pretty good longevity. The honey is beautifully blended and this is definitely gourmand.

A mix between Ozonol (an antibiotic ointment) and honey flavoured cough drop. I will definitely not be adding this to my collection.

All in the skin chemistry: smells sour on me and like a boozy milkshake on my friend. I wish it worked for me. not a safe blind buy

Very gourmand but complex. Honey, vanilla, cinnamon, cereal, with subtle hints of cedar and chocolate.
